I implore you, stop reading at book 5:
The Fires of Heaven. Jordan starts phoning it in at book 6 (although some would argue sooner), and whilst there are some good moments in the subsequent books, books 7, 8, and 10 are dross.
And we're now up to eleven books, twelve if you count the prequel, in what was supposed to a trilogy.
It still hasn't finished! With no end in sight -- I would advise anyone against getting too hooked until we know whether the effort is going to worth it.
Don't get me wrong, I've loved the first three books, and have firm favourites amongst the others. Just my two cents worth
