Kevin Oliver’s Shakuntala: A Rock Opera
Starting April 20th at the Wellington Theatre, Wellington International School.
GEMS Arts is proud to present Kevin Oliver’s ‘SHAKUNTALA’ a Rock Opera. This original production has been written, scored and directed by Kevin Oliver (known in the UAE for his productions of CATS, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, HEROE’S, A CARNIVAL TALE, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, CIRCLE OF LIFE, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTREDAME,THE MAIDS, VERONICA’S ROOM).
This production has international talent from Canada and India, along with GEMS alumni, students, parents and teachers taking part. It will be the most exciting event on Dubai’s cultural and social calendar for 2006.
Public performances will run from April 21 to 26, 2006. Special students’ matinee performances will take place, tickets for which are Dhs 20. For the general public the show is daily at 8pm as well as one matinee on Friday April 21, tickets for which are Dhs 100.
