U should get ur a$$ down here. With ur qualifications, if you nail a job, a V6 could be yours in no time.

Also not to mention the fact the 5 series has always been the ugliest BMWs lineup until now and is only beaten in uglyness by the new X6
Get proper muscle like the vettes, vipers and the new absolutely to die for will give up my left nut for it 2010 Camaro *drool*
Nothing beats the sound of an american V8 gurguling. That itself is priceless.
Oh an not to forget the new GT-R R 35, Yowza that is one mean mother, I take than over a pretend sports car namely the BMW M's or Merc AMG's
desertdudeshj wrote:Thats the thing, your choices are so baised because you just can't see past the badges anymore. You wouldn't know a god car if it came and rammed you in the rear end.
Anything with a BMW, MERC or Porsche Badge at it has to be good and expensive. Yes BMW and Merc did make good cars and once and their build quality was lengendary. But have you actually driven or owned any thing from this century. Its like they were put together using kids gum. Door panels start peeling, dashboards start to go wobbly. Not to mention the over engineered electrics, array of sensors and ecus start to act up. Then your very sleek and smart car is just a dumb fcuk left stranded on the roadside. Because the LED in the dashwent out and the main ECU went into critical error mode and shut itself down Maybe these hunk a junks do well im the european climate but here usually melt away in a couple of years
I've usually seen europeans have this sort of mentality. If BMW put four wheels on a turd and stuck a badge in front it would considered exotic !
Truth of the matter is these people made good cars like the top end Merc S series and the budget E190's still going strong. And BMW a decent one every now and then too. But not anymore.
Yes the americans have their faults too, but atleast they don't pretend to be somnething they are not and dont cost an arm and a leg for 1 second less.
For the price of M5 I can buy a couple of CR8s and smoke the M5 to kingdom come and still have change left over for a corolla.
You really don't want to talk shop about cars with someone whos been in the industry for sometime and is a petrol head and not to mention cars are his hobby, passion and work.

In a hurry now so will try to keep it short.
All I can say regarding this is what I see in real life and not paper. There are a hell lot of Older BMW's and Merc's ( Anywhere from late 80's to late 90's ) on the road here and then the Newer models a few years old. And a real lack of 2000ish models. Specially BMW's. Now the real test is will we still well running 2009's and 10's 10 to 15 yrs from now. I seriously doubt it !
Now like I say I will tell it like I see it and not what the manufacturer say about his own product.
"Those faults and errors are mostly engineered out of the system already" No not really If I could tell you the stories I've seen with these friends cars from BMW X5's to CL 55's it would need a new subforum. And majority are not mechanical 90% are electronics and ECU malfunctions. And I'm talking new cars here not some 5th hand abused cars. Car which were taken off the dealers floor and have been with one person throughout and well cared for.
To have these you need to be good friends with the super expensive stealers or a very expensive indy.
Maybe they function well in european climate but not really very well in the desert heat here. And please don't tell me about R&D and the climate testing the major manufacturers do. I've myself have been personally involved in these tests from porsche to nissan here. A couple of days of bashing a new car really cant replicate long term enviroment and temperature usage. Even the F 117 stealth bomber failed here !
As for economy in milage terms of these big engined cars all new cars basically boast similar figures, weather it be the germans, americans or japanese. So that does not even count and plus if you can afford a 80k US $ car I think that will be least of your worries.
