this is fairly common in india, where (cheapos?) dont remove the plastic so that whenever everyone they know see the car, thay think its brand new. and it supposedly also retains the resale value of the car?! the international DL from your country is valid only when you are on a visit visa. if you have entered on a residency visa, you cannot use it to drive, u have to go thru the process of obtaining a UAE DL(procedure varies)
