Well there is a huge difference between satwa and al diyafa...diyafa is slightly more "upper class" when compared to satwa. In satwa you will find more labor class people living in the area...more expats live in the diyafah area. you mean those "labor class people" are not expat...

Real or not, it is possible for a Filipino or anybody from anywhere in the world to be as dumb as this- no one is exempted. But you must take note that not all "flips" share the character's sentiments.
The question now is, what is the motive for posting? hmmm.....

Back to topic. Apparently it happens much more in the evening/night. Once it disconnected every half minute! But in day time, it's much less. Therefore I'm sure it's not the laptop or the modem. Maybe they have a bigtime client operating at night and your connection happen to be on the same trunk a...

Notice how credible theories such as these don't get too much attention and are almost always dismissed prior to reading them? Because there's too many silly theories going around- which may also be another tactic to numb and anesthetize the masses. :?

In my opinion Dubai is unique; peoples from all over the world living together in a place where the way things work, the culture, religion, governance, etc is strange to them, so unique problems and complaints are bound to happen.

I dislike the fact that I am away from my country (homesick!) and it is very difficult for me to get along with/cannot understand the ways the majority of people s here- though I didn't have this kind of problem anywhere else in the world I've been to (namely Japan, UK, US, other parts of SE Asia).....

You also have to deal with people who stare- lots of them here! (as if they're not aware that it is rude, maybe a culture thing for them :? ). But I think since you implied you don't look like the typical white, blonde european, you might get less stares

I've recently had a no.2 haircut and was aghast to see a 25-fil-coin sized bald spot at the back of my head! Going bald is certainly not in my genes so I think it might be fungal since it has been very humid lately.

For the most part you can ignore- but will still depend upon your patience- like when people look at you in a degrading way, or tell you that your english accent is weird or when service people do not attend to your needs as quickly and as politely as they would with certain races, etc.

True observations. Though lately I'm starting to think that the "multi-cultural" stuff should be on the negatives list as well. If you're here as a tourist then it's fine, but living here, dealing with other peoples ways everyday, day-in and day-out will just wear you out eventually :? It ...

I don't think the article was meant to come across as whining, but rather as a warning. A warning to those who are prone to whining. All of us who live here know that at least most of what was said is true, so for those who intend to come and live here this would be a good review of the negatives an...

Re: Filipinas and foreign boyfriends

Is it not a fact that many of the Filipinas in Dubai are alone and away from families. And that having a foreign friend makes them feel safer and secure. Also lets face it many Filipino men have a reputation for being immature and unreliable. Vive le difference! Oh... bash the pinoy men now huh? I ...

Some restaurants in the business districts are still open, like the food courts in DIC. Last year came along with an outdoor (almost closed) tent for smokers. Besides, if im caught hungry in the middle of the day outside, I wouldnt eat in a hotel- too expensive!. So what to do?
