well, I did not go last night.

Instead went for dinner at the Yalumba restaurant in Le meridian (opp Airport). All you can eat seafood night for Dhs160. Must admit, made absolute pigs of ourselves (mainly deserts = partial to choclate)

Driving from Dubai to Muscat

Just a few questions really.

How long should it take? (based on leaving early AM)
Border crossing = pain in the arse or not?
Any decent sights to be seen along the way? (or just more sand)
They have 98 petrol in Oman I take it?
What is there to do in Muscat?

Cheers for any replies.

G, You can try any of the car rental places like Dollar, Avis and all the rest (cannot think of too many) Only problem I have found is that they will basically take the cost of purchasing the car, tax, insurance, amintenance etc and then divide it by a set number of years and months. I have NO idea ...

HP,

Just for once I would like to see a half decent thread form you, rather than this non-sensical drivel you keep coming out with. I mean it is completely and utterly useless.

I am not "attacking", just stating an observation.

Well, for a family you will no doubt be looking for a 3 bed villa as a minimum. OK, this is approx and depends on the area where you live Rent per year: Dhs 100,000.00 Utilities: Dhs 1,000.00 per month = Dhs 12,000.00 per year So, that makes Dhs112,000 per year, so i would negotiate Dhs10,000.00 per...

Yes, it is cheaper, but you will either have to suffer driving through Sharjah or take the Emirates road.

With NO traffic or very, very light traffic (a rarity in Dubai) Airport to Ajman will take approx 30 mins, with trafffic, I have no idea, but I would say: Set ya alarm damn early!

Mmmmmm, most of the expats i know that are on true expat packages get tax and stuff paid for by their Companies. what they get in their hand when working abroad is for them, and them only.

I take it you are only coming out on secondment and not a full time role?

Well, I have to admit, I can vouch for Nissan. Both will have a really good re-sale value in Dubai. They are both a "good choice" for most of the population here in Dubai. Your best bet is to go into both dealerships and see what they have to offer you. I would not discount the Chev car. they ...

photonico, You will first need to provide a bit more info than what you have done. I mean, nobody here knows you, knows what you like or what you do. We could all say that Dhs10,000 is enough, but if your profession is a Secretary, then you ain't realistically gonna earn that much money. You also ma...
