The biggest problem with Mirdif, is the schools! I would factor in a bit more travelling time than 30mins if you stay in Mirdif area to get to good English schools! Most of these are located on the other side oif the creek

Wow, sharks fin soup is indeed a delicacy in HK. No wedding worth its salt would NOT have sharks fin soup on the menu. Nothing to rave about I have to admit.

Just go to The One. Nice stuff there, if you can afford it! Also, look along the main drag to Sharjah (from City Centre), lots of nice furniture shops along there, including Idesign!
