If all workforces are willing to get paid cheaply, if all the companies have similar thoughts, that they will hire the cheapest staffs without thinking about quality, attitude, ethics, then it will hit you (the employees) back as you will never be appreciated with high values and never get higher sa...

and bars/clubs are not the only places you can go the first time.
perhaps joining a gym/sport club, going to religious services (church/mosque), etc.

btw, it seems there's not many of groups in dubai sharing the same interests other than the same nationality!

the building was not designed for shopping mall or restaurant complex. low ceiling, corridors, no traffic of people, etc. it's more suitable for offices. but with the metro station just next to it, it's a prime location, they should've change the concept or at least let the traffic from metro statio...

There's one shop in Sharjah, but very very limited. I'd say None. Even it's difficult to find high grade Hoya filters here. I had to buy them when taking vacation in home country. For others, you may check Salam store (Wafi mall), MK Trading (behind Twin Tower), or one small shop in MoE (above Carre...

When living in my previous apartment for 3 years, I never had problem using Etisalat services: landline, ADSL, mobile. In fact I wish they installed the FTTH (fibre lines) earlier as my Internet connection speed was doubled (paid for 512K got 1M) for "free" (probably was a mistake?). Two t...

Yes Eti sucks big time took 3 months to install the connection, I lived right in the heart of the city. Also after the cable cut incident in feb 07/08 ? Etisalat starting throttling downloads so trying to download anything from p2p or torrents speed would drop to 2 or 4kbs ! but thankfully end of t...

for gazillion times, the genuine good ones don't go to or hang out in bars (frequently). period.

ironically some women knew they had the good ones but think it's not enough and threw them away instead.

Web ads are useless. It's so 90s before the dotcom boom. Unless you're as big as Google/Facebook, you got to have real brick & mortar business.
More and more people use Adblock extension on their browser (Firefox).

First, I use paid VPN (US based) for my Internet connection (means websites will see that I'm located somewhere in US), so any IP-region-based ads targeted for Middle East will be unrelevant. Second, I use all the time Adblock extensions on Firefox where I block almost all banners & ads includin...

Some anti-dust technology on micro scale has been used in some digital cameras namely Sony Alpha DSLRs. One is by vibrating the sensor inside the camera so some dusts (though not effectively 100%) would fall from the sensor. I'm not sure vibrating a big glass window will do though ;) This sensor is ...

Expired residence visa, still need to cancel?

Do we still need to cancel the residence visa (from previous sponsor) if it has been expired (either within grace period of 30 days after expiration, or beyond that regardless of overstaying fines) and not renewed, in order to have a new one (new job/sponsor or opening a company)?

First, I don't want all the clutters which mostly irrelevant. I want clean websites.

Second, it makes the website load faster as it won't download the blocked items which sometimes takes 50% or more of the size especially with flash ads.
