Re: Lose labour case and you are banned for a year

What a s**t rule. What about the employers? Are they free if they lose the case? "Workers who lose their case in a UAE labour court will be banned from working in the country for a year, the Ministry of Labour has said." http://www.arabianbusiness.com/563627-lose-labour-case-and-you-are-b...

Patent?

Does anyone know how anything about product design+production (e.g. a laptop accessory) and its patent registration in UAE or other countries? Is a patent automatically enforced in other countries if we register in one country? Or must we register in every country?

Yeah, I got no choice anyway. I need the money and have nothing to lose. Now that I'm making "trouble" for them (ex-company), the only problem is if they put a labour ban (winning or losing)! An employee has actually one year time to complain after visa cancellation and worked with other c...

Ewwwwww! er in general I'd have to say no we don't! SOme hair is fine, it's nice trimmed. But a whole rug that you could virtually plait and gel into various styles is hideous. Either trim or wax that sucker. Hair and sweat... ew! Glad that I'm not THAT hairy! I wonder if waxing (for trimming) is c...

Almost any case here actually goes to mediation/counseling bodies/sections. You need a formal letter (if unreconciliable) from these bodies in order to open a case in the court. Example: FZA or Ministry of Labour's labour dispute section, family guidance & reconciliation section (at dubai court)...

Re: Pls advise, which hospital or doctor to see

to make a check for testicular cancer unless it's all covered by your insurance, avoid hospitals in dubai/UAE. they're too much expensive. i spent 300+ dhs just for sore throat! even many GCC nationals go abroad (i found many of them when i lived & went to a good private hospital in bangkok) fo...

One small solution on credit crunch

I don't know if it has been discussed. As we all know that many people have no choice than to flee out of the country because they didn't want to go to jail and couldn't pay the installment of cars/properties when they were laid off. If there were mechanism about "financing transfer" from ...

there are lots of barcode formats. the most common are EAN13, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8. and those numbers are not just there. first, each registered entity (manufacturer of the product) is assigned some prefix, remaining numbers, and lastly a check digit (based on certain formula). each barcode scanner b...

all reputable barcode readers definitely are able to read EAN13 (the most common format). the only thing is to make sure to set it properly (read the manual about prefix, suffix, check digit). normally a discussion on formats or how the scanner behaves must be agreed between the hardware vendor (bar...

I had always thought it was the language of pixies ! I totally agree with TJ. But to extend it, I still believe (well, from my personal experience I hardly gained nor lost weight more than 2 kg): * The more important is not about what to eat, but how to eat.
