Re: Are there many part time jobs for women?

I would be looking to do something fairly undemanding while I consider a career change. My husband will obviously be earning the bulk of our income. My background is in sales and training. I thought I could do some sort of customer service role. Is this type of work available and how much does it p...

I still don't get it. You worked there since 8 months ago but they haven't been paying your salary? Or you have resigned 8 months ago but they haven't paid your salary/gratuity? Or what? I believe GBM is a big company, it was one of my previous company's vendor to deliver IBM POS/machines. Are you s...

Re: 12 -24 month car rental deals...

If it's for long term (>12 months) generally it's cheaper to buy a new one and then resell at the end or at least before the warranty ends. Especially with Japanese cars.

there is an awesome doctor at Belhoul Hospital at Dhiafa area. He is a good ENT specialist. Second it. I brought my 2.5 yo daughter to him for ear drum infection treatment (which apparently common to children). He's very good, patient, and would explain everything we asked. I don't remember his nam...

To all finance/banking experts.. about loan & investing

Than to waste all of my savings to nothing (and a bit inspired by rich locals), I'm thinking of taking a couple of hundred thousands Dhs loan from the bank (my current bank is NBD) and invest on properties (ex: small student flats) in my home town. Is now a good time to take loan from the bank? Woul...

Anywhere in Dubai city for 3 BR apt would be expensive. You need to dig at least 100-120K/year. So what's your budget? Is 3 BR a must? Where do you/spouse would work?

Does changing job and getting raise from one country to another country count? Or only within Dubai? For the last 3 jobs (3 countries), I stayed no more than 12-18 months each. Not because I like moving around (basically I'm loyal), but because the condition were not good or the project was cancelle...

By the way, is annual raise common in Dubai? Is it in the govt regulation (say at least same as inflation if any) or only company can decide?

Re: To all finance/banking experts.. about loan & invest

1. No idea if flats will still increase in value. I see the least downward potential in detached villas and in low rise apartment buildings due to a lack of supply In my home country, Indonesia, especially in big cities such as Jakarta, I see an open market for low rise apts/flats just like in Duba...

As I said, there's no place in Dubai that is cheap and reasonable. That's the truth. You might probably get a little cheaper in Sharjah.

Re: Is it usual to get housing allowance?

By my calculations I'll need to budget at least AED150,000 for reasonably decent family accommodation, in other words at least half my salary, and about twice my monthly mortgage payments in the UK. That's a bit miscalculation, perhaps you were looking to those overpriced 3-4 bedrooms apartments/vi...

If you have Showtime or e-Vision pay TV, I believe you need to subscribe a la carte programs like Al Jazeera Sports +1 and +2. I'm not sure though it airs MotoGP (I'm out of Dubai at the moment). "Company" to give visit visa sponsorship/services

Does anyone know a "company" to provide visit visa sponsorship/services? How much approximately the service fee?
This is to accommodate my friend's second entry (in-out-in within 2 weeks time) to Dubai. Unfortunately she is not eligible for visa-on-arrival or visa run (due to nationality).

All of her days in Dubai, she will stay in our apartment. I guess only med-big hotels (with minimum number of nights) provide this kind of services. The problem is that the hotels in Dubai are very expensive. She could spend at least 3000 AED + visa services for a week. That's worth 2 return tickets...

2 things you can try, 1. Most any travel agency has a 'visa run' divisions, between 300 and 1000 depending on her passport , mode of transport, destination, etc. she should be able to get a visa, the fact that it is back to back from her last one shouldn't matter. 2. I'm guessing you did her first ...
