I know how bad it feels to lose a pet. I lost two grey african parrots in the past (due to viral diseases), I took them to the vet. several times, and spent a lot of money as wel. One of them broke his leg as well as he was playing. I X-rayed him twice and it was way much expensive than a human X-ray.
