Re: 60 percent of women harassed on daily basis – Cairo

Melika - I too am confused. Dee07 was at pains to avoid talking about Islam, but rather challenged your view that the harrassment was due to Islam. He rather made reference to why the harassment in Cairo could not be attributed to any one religion and challenged you to provide evidence for your prev...

Re: Why do I choose Islam?

you prob mean mediumship shaf - mentalism to my knowledge is general trickery used by entertainment magicians, some of the stuff the Derren brown does is quite amazing. I have though been to one of these seance things out of curiosity and the woman said to me that there was a man present, my grandf...

Re: Is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad The Promised Messiah?

:alien: What part of my previous posts confused you? Was it where I said that, like you, I hadn't actually read what you posted - or was it the part where I said I was still interested in you summarising the points made by Memon. To be honest, I'm trying to emulate your usual MO in this thread by no...

Re: Christian vs Muslim convert terror counts - the results

So, where is your count? Has it reached 8 yet? I could quote you where you agreed these guys were christian terrorist converts, but hey - I guess you are entitled to change your mind, and perhaps you didn't read what you typed out? ;) I'm happy to compare stats as agreed though - but it's a bit hard...

Re: Apartheid Comparison - From those who know

I actually agree with eh on this point - it is pointless bringing up historical massacres done in the name of religion when discussing current day crimes of Israel. If I tried to excuse the imagined massacres of early Muslims by saying they were ok because Christians later massacred far more, then I...

Re: Domestic Violence against Women

It is interesting that no one seems to be giving reasons for the high rates of violence against women in non-islamic countries. Am I the only one that is shocked by the high rates. If we believe that the laws are effective, does this not mean that these non-Muslim male populations are naturally viol...

Re: Was Jesus crucified? Anwer - yes

Did you read this article in full eh?

As for me, I believe what God says in the Quran on the issue. God clearly says that Jesus was not crucified 'wa ma salabuhu' - so, no Jesus was not crucified.

What do you believe - was Jesus crucified, yes or no?

Re: Domestic Violence against Women

Indeed, violence against women is startling. If alcohol can be blamed for violence against women where alcohol is regularly consumed, then why is violence against women in countries where alcohol is prohibited/restricted equally as high? Going by Dubai's example, restriction may actually increase t...

Re: Palestine - Push for Independence

FD - perhaps you can tell us what the International Court of Justice has ruled on this issue? In my thread 'it's quite simple' it refers to the legal rulings on the issue. Are the facts stated there wrong? Then perhaps we can see whether Israel is acting legally when it refuses to give up land conqu...

Re: Apartheid Comparison - From those who know

My question seems to have got lost after dee's reply - but it is something I'd like to get to the bottom of. The 'colonialist-only' roads of the West Bank are a harsher separation than anything in Apartheid South Africa - and I've found a number of media articles that call these 'Jews-Only' roads. S...

Re: Apartheid Comparison - From those who know

Going OT now. There has never been an independent Palestine, if that is what you mean. There have been inhabitants of the Palestine for millenia - and many of those who are refused entry to their homes have title deeds that go back to Ottoman times. These people are both Arabs and non-Arabs (my for...

Re: Palestine - Push for Independence

So, you aren't going to tell us what the ICJ ruled on then? Fair enough. Here's what I quoted in 'It's quite simple thread' Finkelstein explained that in July 2004 the highest judicial body in the world, The International Court of Justice (ICJ) gave an advisory opinion as to the legality of the wall...

Re: Apartheid Comparison - From those who know

There are no jew only or colonist only roads. Another libel. Jews didn't poison the well, and there is no secret room with 2000 jews ruling the world as you also seem to think. Then I guess those media articles will be hearing from the lawyers. As I said, I've no issue with just calling the roads '...

Re: Palestine - Push for Independence

I didn't ask about Finkelstein's opinion on whether Israel was acting illegally or not (he clearly states he agrees with the ICJ) - but rather was his summary of the ICJ ruling wrong? Let me repeat it for you (again): international law is clear and straight forward – the land does not belong to the ...

Re: Apartheid Comparison - From those who know

I know that some Palestinians are given permission to use some of the 'colonialist-only' roads, but I wasn't aware of any non-Jewish colonists. I see you are avoiding answering the direct question - I'll take it as read then that the colonialists +are+ all Jewish. Interesting also that you think acc...

"Jews Only" Roads

Here's an article by a former Israeli education minister, written in Jan 2007. Pretty self-explanatory.
