Arnie - looks like a tasty piece of kit! how many 'friends' can watch what the kit is streaming? I mean, for example, if you are streaming the world cup final etc, can two or more people log in on your account and watch? If so, could we perhaps test it out...?? I'm happy to be a guniea pig :D In ter...

cool.

I've had a look at the US website for the specs, and it appears that only one remote connection to a box is allowed :(

However, if you can stream the content through a pc, I'm sure it can be shared for all using something like ORB.. but I'm not that technical, perhaps someone can help?

I agree that the tv packages here are crap - I'm considering cancelling my subs to Orbit even though it will cost me 500 dhs in cancellation fees (bastards). My wife is more than happy with her Indian movies package - Pehla Silver, though. I do find that I can download most of the tv programmes that...

I'm watching on the internet.

TVUplayer rocks - shows the american coverage on Espn2 and ABC.

Haven't figured out how to use ppLive yet - I hear it is better.

Cheers,

Mahmood, All the photo print shops I have seen here do digital photo printing - all the malls have photo print shops, so you shouldn't have any problems with this. I haven't used the service - but I think the prints are quite cheap - I seem to recall a figure of 1dhs per print, but I'm not sure. Che...

We were all created 5 minutes ago with ready-made memories.

(That's one theory of creation! - the other is that we are all in the Matrix!)

Anyway - Wensleydale is a cracking cheese too :)

Maybe I meant Phil Collins? Or maybe I was just apoplectic at the comment about Stevie? Or maybe I was just not arsed about being pedantic about spelling :) Or maybe I thought it would be funny/ironic to ask someone to lookup a mis-spelled word...:) In reality, I have to admit, I couldn't recall the...

Armed Resistance or Terrorism - The spin on Killing

Watching the news coming out of Gaza today, I note the contrasting views of the attack on the Israeli outpost in Gaza in which a couple of soldiers was killed and one taken hostage. The Palestinian government spokesman says it was an attack in retalliation for the 20 plus civilians that have been ki...

Promiscuity and social unrest

I've just finished reading a fascinating book that I recommend to everyone - Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything ~ Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner Have a look at Amazon for reviews - it is very readable and does make one think about cause and effect on various ...

I guess this is an answer to the Americans who have brought out 'Kafir' range of clothing: http://www.cafepress.com/cr_kafir_gear.31483814 I take a little exception to you calling your the website 'Islamic', but I guess selling clothing with 'Muslim' on it may qualify as 'Islamic'. The best garb a M...

As I said, I can't change my first impressions.

I still think the t-shirts are over-priced, I know the cost of FoL shirts wholesale.

Good luck with the site and don't mind me - I'm just an old cynic and do try to think before I write, but thanks for the advice.

Ian, If you note, I am just extending the arguements laid out in the book about the causes of the reduction of crime in the US to the rise in abortions. I actually enjoyed the book and didn't feel cheated by it (and I too have a reasonable grasp of economic theory) - but then again, I didn't pay for...

Raidah, I have had the patience to read your post, and I am sure many people here will. The views you have expressed are perfectly valid and I for one will not criticise anyone for holding these views, as they relate to how one chooses to enter into relationships and when one decides to be active in...

Salaam, My opinion is that all targeted killings of innocent women and children and civilians in general is wrong. I do not believe this can be condoned. With this general principle, I do not believe that all Hamas' previous tactics of suicide bombings and missiles aiming at settlers was right - and...

Re: Jizya - poll tax

Until we examine all the evidence for general taxation, I can't see how we can come to an informed decision either way. As I said, I'll let you start the new thread and dig out the evidence - I'll do the critiquing of your evidence. This thread is about Jizya - once we agree on the facts (and we see...

Re: For shafique - Caesarea and 7,000 killed

So, the answer is 'yes, I only have one line from Theophanes to back up my allegation that 7000 Romans were killed' As for 'reduced' - I'm sorry, but you will understand that I don't trust your third hand accounts any more, please give the actual quote from Baldhuri and not what wiki (or some other ...

Re: For shafique - contradictions in the Koran

You have a weird definition of contradictions then. May I suggest you look up the meaning of 'alternative' and 'appropriate' in the context of punishments. Perhaps you are one of those Christians that believe that all adulterers should be forced to divorce - as the NT allows divorce in the case of a...

Re: eh - Jews responsible for killing Jesus?

So, let's clear this up. Those who believe Matthew is wrong to blame Jews have their arguments - it is clear that historically Christians HAVE blamed the Jews for deicide and that this view changed in the 20th century. To absolve the Jews of responsibility, the 20th century christians have had to co...
