Cool, so let us know when you have: 1. read the whole article 2. found anyone who agrees with you that the author was wrong when he wrote 'Islam means the religion of peace' You seem to be arguing that the author wrote 'Islam literally means peace'. Your state of denial about us not providing any ex...

I see that eh has proved once again to be 'all mouth, no trousers', as he finally realises he misread the first sentence of the article and can't provide any one person who agrees the author was wrong to say 'Islam means the religion of peace'. It is just another example of not actually reading what...

Just go back to the first page where you argued that Islam literally means peace. For the record, I think you've mis-calculated if you claim this and don't expect people to go back and read what I wrote. People can judge whether I argued that 'Islam literally means peace' or whether this is just an...

As I said, you have been found out yet again. When you have actually read the whole article and found someone who agrees with your initial claim, perhaps we can discuss further. Your fantasies about what I've said are getting more and more bizarre, but don't disguise the fact you don't seem to have ...

Perhaps you need to look up what the word 'also' means. ;) As I said, I can't help you with basic English comprehension. The fact you stand alone in your views about the Bible and now basic english comprehension speaks volumes (otherwise you would have produced one expert who agrees with you that th...

A simple enough challenge to eh-oh to produce one expert who agrees with him results in defensive posts and boasts about his comprehension of Arabic.

As I thought, you are still trying to avoid answering the question about whether you actually read the initial article (or your link in response) in full. It is not surprising that you don't agree with something you haven't read, but it is fascinating that you feel you are an expert now. As for the ...

I guess that Bush was also wrong in eh-oh's eyes when he said: "Islam is Peace" http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20010917-11.html (Which shows the wisdom in the saying that 'a broken clock is right twice a day' - and by extension we shouldn't write off event...

Bush - religious fanatic?

What is quite well known is the revelation that Bush claimed Divine intervention for his decision to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, and the subsequent White House denial that Bush actually made the claim. (Bush told a group of Arab politicians this in 2003, and the embarrassed White House officials ha...

This has been posted about before (at least twice, IIRC) The BBC has covered this issue - and one of the contributing factors is the increasing costs of getting married and the poor economic situation there for many men - meaning men are typically having to wait into their 30s before getting married...

:) Why should I get angry with your denial? It's just another example of 'belief' over facts - I'll just add it to the list of other quaint beliefs which you can't provide one corroborating expert eg: Do you have any new points? I think we've established that you believe: 1. The Quran teaches that M...

The survey does, interestingly, lay the blame on the economic situation and a lack of awareness of religious values: The survey of more than 2,000 Egyptian men and women and 109 foreign women said the vast majority of Egyptians believed that sexual harassment in Egypt was on the rise, citing a worse...

What did I say about copy/pastes and not understanding the question? ;) It is funny to see you paste a quote about the root 'aslama' and ignore the fact that this also has a meaning 'peace' - and is referenced in the first post above!! As I said, you have to rely on pastes and your quaint interpreta...

Thanks for clarifying - I thought you were suggesting that the sexual harrassment would be reduced if only more women would sleep with men before marriage, and date more freely. I guess you do agree with the article that said that the problem is with the men, not with the religion they aren't follow...

I think the penny is starting to drop. Yes, a secondary meaning of Islam is peace - hence why the author of the article on Islam and Terrorism was correct in stating that 'Islam means the religion of peace' and why you cannot find an expert who agrees with your contention that this is incorrect. Thi...

Uhm, actually I'm referring to Bush's own subsequent denial of said claim after he left office. Did you believe him when he said there were WMD's in Iraq? Again, you appear to be living in the past and haven't apparently read beyond the first paragraph of the initial post! Cheers, Shafique

Hostage Exchanges

It looks like the Israelis are finally going to sieze the offer made when their soldier was captured in June 2006 and exchange him for some of the hostages they hold: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8374402.stm Israel is one of the few regimes in the world that have a hostage taking policy - ...

Cool - so we agree that Israel and Muhammad have a lot in common. They're two peas in a pod, two sides of the same coin, etc. Yes, I agree that Israel does commit the war crimes you think Muhammad committed. I hope you join me in condeming the war crimes of Israel and don't adopt the tactic of not ...

Re: Christian vs Muslim convert terror counts - the results

You really should do your own research eh-oh, I really can't continue to spoon feed you information! The LRA are clearly a cult and the members who subscribe to their core beliefs converted to that cult's religion (which aims to set up a theocracy based on the Biblical 10 commandments). Therefore th...

Re: Meaning of 'Islam'

Again with the selective quotes!

Aslama also means 'he enters into peace' as well as 'he surrendered' - and as you yourself quoted, Islam derives from Aslama - QED.

Quoting abridged definitions which only give the primary meaning doesn't really help your argument.

Shafique

bump for eh - who now says that Israel does commit war crimes and that the crimes they commit resemble those committed by Biblical prophets like Moses (who is reported to have slaughtered women, babies and animals of towns captured by the Israelites).

Re: Meaning of 'Islam'

I re-read your post where you stated Islam is derived from the verb Aslama which is itself derived from the root s-l-m. Your quote says Aslama means 'he submitted', and hence Islam means 'submission'. The fuller definition of Aslama includes 'he entered into peace' and hence Islam also means 'religi...

Re: For eh - Baruch Goldstein

I'm clear that you condemn war crimes when committed by Muslims (even imagined ones). This thread was about whether you are just Islamophobic or whether you are humanist when it comes to condemning acts of terrorism. I'm just emphasising that you refuse to condemn this white American/Jewish terroris...
