Happy for you to continue to post articles here, but please don't overlook the fact I'm waiting for your updated count over in the 'results' page. So far, you are lagging quite a way behind with your solitary 'one' numpty terrorist count. I'm at around a conservative 170 and that's only after 3 year...

Thanks for giving us the reason for avoiding the question - that you think I'm not well read on the subject.

So, asking whether you believe Noah lived to 950 as the Bible and Quran literally say is 'changing the subject'? I've stated I believe both are metaphorical, and that they can (and are) taken literally by others. My reasons are valid to me. So, what is your view on what the Bible (and Quran) says on...

Thanks for confirming that I have indeed answered your queries and we now agree on this historical reality that the Bible has been edited by Pauline Christians. You seem to have a wierd view of recent events (to go with your wierd view of more distant events) - as you seem to be under the impression...

So your view is that the Quran is to be interpreted literally. Hmm. So, how do you 'literally' interpret the Quranic verse which says it contains metaphorical verses?: “He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book, of it there are decisive verses: they are the basis of the Book and others (which are)...

 I read it from books written by scholars such as Kung. Jewish Christians followed Jesus' teachings and the apostles of Jesus were all good Jewish Christians who continued to follow Judaic law (as did Jesus himself). I have also given you references, ad nauseum, to scholars who confirm that the...

I'll see your article on Jinn possessions and raise you an article on demonic possessions: http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_exor.htm As back-up, I'll cite the film 'exorcist' - I'm sure some people believe it was a documentary! :) (I'm sure you'll recall that I agree with you that many Muslims ...

US reminds me SU in the end of 70s with its stagnation. I disagree. The next boom is on the horizon. The question is how fast can the US government clear off it's toxic debt. Offcourse the war is not helping either. Ahh - it is touching to see such faith outside of the religion forum! ;) But you ra...

Thanks Berrin - it is always useful to get a perspective from another translation. This verse is interpreted literally by some Muslims - that Noah dwelt among his people for 1000 less 50 years (some interpreting this as Noah living to age 1000, assuming he started receiving revelations at age 50). W...

There I was thinking that the value of money was what someone else was willing to give you in exchange for it! ;) As for the value of currency - I think Soros will argue that today it's only worth what the market thinks it's worth. I wasn't advocating a return to the gold standard, just making a ref...

Tell me what is goint to be the engine of this boom. Traditional industry, like GM, Ford, Chrysler, is totally distroid. Technological progress was over in the end of 90s and was replaced on "innovationes" and so new economy landed very soon after that. That's why we saw bubles in the rea...

Viking - Agree about Britain not being in denial any more! Was back there in March with the family and had a few interviews, and all unanimously agreed that we'd prefer to be in Mauritius and jobless, rather than in the UK and with a reasonably paid job. It's a bit dire (and we have a house in a lea...

I actually agree with eh-oh on this one - the superstitious Muslims who believe in demonic possessions are just as sincere in their beliefs as the Christians with similar beliefs are. It's good that eh-oh is bringing out the similarities between Christian and Muslim beliefs - first it was the fact b...

Well it makes a change for you to acknowledge the bleeding obvious after you posted it. It does appear strange that you seemed unaware that the Bible also gives Noah's age at 950 and that you now refuse to give your interpretation of this fact. Let me quote Jesus: You hypocrite! First remove the bea...

You really must try and keep up and actually read the books you quote from. Actually, it may just be a matter of comprehension rather than reading - perhaps the meaning of Kung's words which I quoted from 'Women In Christianity' didn't register? Let's take it in baby steps for you (sorry, if I had a...

When asked if eh-oh condemns or condones the Jewish terrorist, we either get 'he was a tacit Muslim' or 'I condemn Muslim terrorists'. There is a saying, often attributed to Pope Bonifacious VIII which states ‘Qui tacet consentiret’ (i.e. Silence gives consent). It appears the Islamophobia runs deep...

The issue is really that the whole banking system is now largely based on confidence - it is not actually based on 'actual' money circulating. It's a hard concept for laypeople to comprehend, let alone accept. It's all an illusion - but one that has its own terminology and logic. Fractional reserve ...

Actually - NO I dont get it. Why, cant a central bank just slip a few billion into its coffers, then put that money either back into circulation or just pay off a debt, who gonna know anyway if its kept shhhhhhhhhhh. Strange that you would wish to change the subject when I asked whether you were aware that the Bible gave Noah's age at 950 and whether you agreed with it (literally)? I understand you wish to avoid questions and I am always amused at the excuses you sometimes give (but mostly you just remain silent...

Did you even read the book 'Women in Christianity' by Hans Kung that you quoted from? Was my reference to his quote on pg 15 not specific enough for you, or was his explanation not clear enough? As I said, your silence when it comes to condemning an Israeli religous terrorist Army Officer speaks volumes. I agree that when the 'terrorists' are ex-Hindus (and Indian) or Arab Christians you do concede that they are Christian terrorists - which makes the refusal to condemn this American Doctor ...

Re: Check Your Flights

On a (slightly) related note - a Libyan aircraft has crashed on landing in Libya - on its way from South Africa and with a number of European passengers who had connecting flights. FD - a number of them were Dutch.

My condolences to all concerned.

Re: Wife beating in the Koran - split from Politics forum

FD - are you having a bad day or something? Your selective quote above is quite telling. Let's examine what you did: Obviously you studied it very well, and came to the following conclusion: Berrin wrote: women may even enjoy being beaten at times as a sign of love and concern. And here is Berrin's ...

Re: Belgium first European country to ban burka

LOL - Berrin, I have to agree with DD - the long cuts and pastes can be a turn off for most here (and surely you realise that RobbyG is having fun with you?) Speaking of fun, now that eh is back - wouldn't it be fun to have a 'celebrity death match' between him, Berrin and dattaswami? :| :drunken:
