Never bothered about photos myself when I screen CVs.

Send in PDF if using a recruitment agent (they have a funny habit of changing details etc.), otherwise Word is fine.

Many companies pay you first rent cheque for you then let you pay it back monthly from your wage. Yup, deposits can be sore if you're not prepared. I was a bit shocked in some cases but I was lucky I had some cash. Worst one as said is the 5% agent payment, would advise take company accom if availab...

unbelievable that there r some morons here justifying this... It's been policy in war zones for a very long time. As above, I'm sure you'd be tough enough to sit and wait your turn. Whatever you think of the war - and most people agree it's wrong - it doesn't mean the soldiers should sit like sitti...

How should I cure my insatiable vanity? Should I ignore my clothes and other meaningless baubles and instead buy a high powered sports car and private number plate to cleanse myself? That is surely the path of the righteous.

Poorly structured and subjective stuff again freza. Oops, forgot I'm not allowed to criticise! Why concern myself with religion? Like it or not, it impacts significant chunks of my life, cricket on the other hand does not. As for some of your recommendations on how to bring my daughter up, the day I...

Im prob. gonna move to Dubai with in the next 4 months. The living together unmarried thing does not really surprise me that much. It seems like you really have nothing to worry about if the law is not enforced. Form example, in this one place in the world, it is illegal and punishable by death if ...

As above, there is a US base here so no surprise, that and it's a very Westernised and safe place to get some down time in this part of the region. American military are always easy to spot, groups of burly men with cropped haircuts, you'd think they'd maybe get some training how to blend in a bit.

As an atheist from the UK, my outlook on what is right and wrong generally is shaped by the common sense parts of Christianity/ other religions (e.g. as in almost all societies stealing, violence etc. are wrong, elements that are right are based on equality and opportunity for all). For elements whe...

Don't know the school itself, but the Green Community is one of the more exclusive areas in Dubai so expect it to be full of Western staff - the rich are incredibly picky about who teaches their children here.

American cars are great as long as you don't need to accelerate quickly, drive around corners or expect any of the luxuries European and Japanese cars have.

I'm happy to be corrected but can't see why OFSTED would review any of the schools as it is a UK-only institution. Anything they publish is on their website.

Jumeirah Primary School has a good reputation, most private schools seem to follow British curriculum too.

Devestating and breathtaking. United deserve the treble but don't think they'll do it, league and FA cup I think, just a little to inconsistent in Europe this season last night aside. I'd actually prefer to see a Chelsea v Man U final, would mean that effectively Chelsea and Man U would play 3 times...

The fact that children are going to bed hungry, or worse dying, when there is a global surplus of food is not God's fault - but man's (at least in my opinion). Man has a role in distributing food but the simple fact is there are too many people in parts of the world where water is scarce. Sure, (fo...

Europe and the US grow a lot of food, yes - but disproportionately more of the arable land of ex-colonies are given over to cash crops rather than food. This is especially so in Africa. This would not be too bad if the price for coffee, cotton etc were set fairly - but currently the price is set in...

Assumption #3 - when the market corrects, you will find the oversupply of larger apartments and the reducing prices will make them more attractive to renters, which in turn will force down the price of the smaller apartments. It might seem like there's an undersupply in the market at the moment, an...
