From what I understand you are able to either transfer directly while remaining in the UAE or leave the country and re-enter as some type of silly formality. Couldn't I go to another country, rather than my home country, and re-enter when the visa is ready? Why does it have to be my home country. If...

Profit Gap - Inflation, COL

If someone is making 25-30K dh per month, single, and even has some allowances for rent and car, isn't that still a pretty picture when you subtract inflation, cost of living, accomodations from the salary? 25K = 7K CAD per month Accomodations = 3K CAD per month Food, Entertainment = 2K CAD per mont...

Salsa beginners class

Hi guys, Planning to relocate and find work - but in the meanwhile I was wondering what you thought about my teaching salsa to make some money on the side. How illegal is doing this when I'm on a visit visa? Any thoughts? I just want to offset my cost of living while I'm there, somehow. Thanks, sand...

Dance Lessons

If I am on a visit visa, can I give dance lessons while there?

What would I need to do or get to be able to charge for these services in the short-term? Or is it simply illegal unless I have a residence/work visa?

What if you move to Dubai, looking for work while on a visit visa, and a month later secure a position? Does the company pay for your original ticket for relocating to Dubai?

Thanks buddy. BTW, for visit visas on arrival (I'm Canadian), I hear I need to have some photos available for them, not just passport or drivers license. Do I need to bring passport size photos which they can take to process my visa? Just throwing this out in this post in case you know. Cheers, AB

Working for Dubai Government - Salary Ranges

As a Canadian expat, mid-level manager, what would you expect the salary ranges to be in?

I'm assuming they pay very well when you work for the government. Is this right on? Do you or any friends or family have experience working for the government and can shed some insight?
