For the Newbies and NearNewbies…. I’ve been thinking (rarely happens but happens) to post some notes directed particularly to the Newbies and NearNewbies on this forum. We all started with zero posts and “knew” nobody on the forums. The forum has been good for some, bad for some, so-so to many, etc...

MOST of the taxis don't stop for brown people, black people, women in abayas, Filipinos, locals, Arabs and people living in traffic-heavy areas. Its true ..it did happen to me...I hailed a taxi from the airport around 3:am and I told the guy in English and Arabic where to go, until I notice that he's taking the wrong way really..then I cursed him in Arabic and swear that I will callthe police if I don't reac h my flat in 10 mins........also ...

Here is a suggestion: Make Up A Sign on a A4 piece of paper that says I TIP And hold it up when hailing a cab - you should have no problems... My sign: I TIP* For Drivers who know their way, make polite conversation, do not grunt, give correct change, and in general smell good. Love the fine print....
