Should be at my home in UK buy the time i get back next week.

Go to an apple store and get some iClean solution. It is the best screen cleaner i have ever used. I got it in the UK, but i am sure you can find it here somewhere.

Try www.smart2go.com. It's free, and has a map for UAE. The only downside is it only works on newer nokia phones and WM5 phones, and you also have to pay to enable navigation. I am using with a Nokia N73 and bluetooth GPS from ebay and it works well.

most ISPs will only let you send mail via SMTP if your directly connected to there network.

There is an easy solution however. Just use the local DIC account for sending mail, but setup the reply-to address in your mail client as your btinternet email address

That should work fine. When sending via DIC SMTP it will have nothing to do with BT Internet. You can put the reply-to address as anything thing you want. It just means that when someone replies to your mail it will be delivered to your btinternet mail box In your mail client: use the BTinternet set...

Is it just me or has Bittorrent really slowed down over the last few weeks. I was getting decent downloads rates of 100kbs but now i only seem to get 1 or 2kbs at most.

I am using a DIC 2Mbit connection

I know my router and macbook is setup correctly etc, with the required ports open

If i were you i would buy a Mac. I have both a Macbook and a PC laptop, and the macbook is far more stable and user friendly. I am sure if there are any security problems apple will fix them with updates.

Also the OSX OS which the iPhone uses already has a good level of security, far better than say Windows XP

Buy a mac and use OSX! It's the best desktop OS by far

or try Unbuntu. I think nowadays it's very easy to install and run etc

I just tested with my nokia e90 using etisalat 3G and it worked

Price is far too high considering in the US the price of the iphone has now dropped to $399 (approx 1500 AED)

I think its better to wait for the euro version which is rumored to have 3G and 16GB flash storage and out in November

I would wait before you buy an iphone and unlock it. Apple may release new firmware soon, that will just turn unlocked phones into an expensive paper weight. Be careful and wait until at least until the next firmware is released and see what happens!

It's not out in dubai, and when i ask the price in the shops no seems to know.

My best guess is that it will cost a little more than buying in the US, but less than the cost in the UK

try the al ain center in bur dubai, near spinnys. there is a stall that sells video games and they were selling modded xbox 360s before so its worth checking.
