I thought it was what it is according the guide books also. I went there early last year. You get on the boat and you go around with nothing to see and buy but souvenirs. Soon you'll feel like being detained on the boat and you are "forced" to stop on every souvenir shop along the way, whi...

Well so far I have a 50/50 good experience-bad experience ratio. I'm Filipino btw (i.e., brown). Good experience is when I hail one, get in and tell the driver my destination, no conversations, no audible sighs from the driver when there's a jam, I pay, the driver gives exact change, I get off. Even...

I tried the sashimi in that place near irish village and it wasn't fresh anymore. That's why I don't trust conveyor-belt sushi.. you'll never know how long it has been going around on there. :?

OT: I always think Japanese cuisine is the complete opposite of Indian cuisine. Where the latter makes use of several spices (masala), the former is so basic. But I like them both

Gross.
I dunno any crab place here in Dubai :?
There are places though in Umm Al Quain where people catch their own crabs (lol), but I think it's the salt-water type.

no, it has something to do with the male-female population ratio. I'm sure it's not only you women who wait for freaking hours to get on a bus. If you make it equal division in bus seats, you'll end up with vacant seats and more men waiting for n freaking hours to get on a bus. You think that's bett...

Re: se&xist rta buses!!

most drivers won't allow women to stand, this is ridiculous really... be a gentleman and offer us seats Talk about double standards. Pathetic. I've already mentioned why there are fewer seats designated women. Add to that the fact they separated the women's seats is to protect them. If you re...

Went to Jashanmal. Saw the "before" DSF tag price of an item to be 40Dhs higher than its actual price on the sticker they forgot to remove. So in reality, I will only save 20Dhs- not 60Dhs for that item.
This kind of trickery is what I dont like about DSF.

On Belly Dancers...

Belly dancers are very popular in the middle east, yes? How come? I thought here it is culturally forbidden for women to bare their skin (and hair)?

Something to do with DNA, evolution, and mutation.
If you think either came to this world as they are now then you'd still wonder.

Another confirmation of the stereotypical image of these folks.. Last week, an old woman in abaya was screaming at us to move away from the side of a carnival ride as she can't see the view. I'm glad she just called the police and not her husband. The police just shooed us away. By the way, why is t...

There seem to be a very thick language barrier between a native english-speaking person and an asian when the former is talking to the latter. He just have to shout out every english word slowly to the other guy. lol, typical.
