there's espn, where i watched a bunch of games on saturday. plus you can setup a slingbox in the states before you leave, like i've done and you can watch whateva you want.

yep that's true. i have it setup on a tv that no one uses, so i can do with it as needed, but if you change the channel, it'll change on the tv it's connected too.

i maybe biaseed since i've had the xbox 360 since it came out in the US, but it depends on what you want to do right now. if you want to play high def movies, then the PS3 is for you, since their cache of games isn't that good. but their blueray dvd player is very nice. if you want to play video gam...

is that salary all inclusive? if so it might not be a good idea. housing and schools for your 2 kids will eat up alot of the 30K a month. its like concord said, for a single guy it might be worth it, but you'd need at least a 2 bedroom apt and with school costs, it'll eat up your salary.

i brought similiar movies and they opened the box with films in it and passed it thru. plus you'll find most if not all of those movies/shows here already.

but back in San fran he'd have to pay taxes, rent and transpo himself. so while the amount doesnt seem very high, its a good package for recent grad.

Anyone here have a slingbox up an running in dubai? mine was working last weekend, but now i'm not able to connect to the service. i checked with the router/box back in the states and they are up an running fine, however i cant get it to work here now. does anyone know if slingbox is blocked in duba...

yep 1 bedroom at jbr is now 95K one of our new employees just got a unit there

i've got the slingbox and it works just fine. make sure the place you have it setup in the states has a router that doesn't go down. otherwise it'll work just fine. orbit offers espn, and they play all the college and nfl games, and orbit also have nba tv for those games. neither of the packages off...

Just curious... not great clarity, because the internet out here is terrible. i've got the highest bandwidth they offer and its never fully usuable. so the streams are typical of low bandwidth, with a lot of lags, but ...

distance wise it might be 4-6 kms. time wise 10 minutes with traffic, i do the commute every day. you take beach road down to the round about, go round the grovesnor house and you at media/internet city within 10 min. most towers have finished, expect for the gyms which will be sometime in 2010-2012...

i love the internet and tech. thank god i was able to watch both games live, hooked upto the tv.

espn on orbit did show the pats/chargers game however

i think you mean international city, as internet city is a commerical area and very expensive. international city is a few minutes from dubailand via emirates road and you can find cheaper flats there. Is that for shared acco?Can I get any Acco near to Dubailand area for that allowance? :wink:Please...

the courts are closed till sept, so dont' worry about that. and the courts give you 3 chances to make the "hearing" i'm going thru this right now with a greedy landlord and since he's missed 3 meetings, they said once they are back from holiday they'll make a judgement.

Do they show it live? On what channel? i set up a sling box in the states before i left, so i can tune into it and watch live tv in the states, so the nite games require waking up at 4:30 am to watch live. they used to have Espn here which showed the monday night game live and repeats of 3-5 games ...
