it'll goto MOL court and they usually end up paying out 6 weeks, however if they've given you notice and ask you to leave right away but pay you that 1 month's, then it'll only be an additional 2 week's salary.

good luck.

have you checked drugstore.com or amazon.com? if you can't find it on there, then most brick and mortar places probably won't carry it anymore.

sorry

desktop should be able to handle the power diff. i know my laptops have never needed anything other than a plug that accepts US plugs. shaver you can bring if you want, however you may need a power convertor for that, check the plug and see if it says 110-220 on it, otherwise just buy here, they're ...

Thanks for the response. It is very helpful. I have shaver, what about hair cutter?- the one you use to cut hair on the head, not face, sorry about the confusion. Is hair cutter also cheap there? Are power converter (from 110-220)and power adapter cheap? By the way, do woman have to wear long shirt...

the fz authority, since that's where you contract is held, not with the MOL. if that doesn't work then you can escalate things, but start with your FZ.

if the visa is DIC/DMC then they had to register your contract with them, that's how the FZ knows your salary and benenfits. you should have signed an english contract with them and one in arabic that they registered with the FZ. just goto Tecom and ask about the compliant, since they have issued yo...

when i moved from the states, i didn't have to pay anything for the dvd's, books and electronic items i brought with me. it'll take a few days to clear customs however, since they go thru most of it to search for illegal items.

depends on what line of work you're in, but 36K is that all inclusive or just basic salary? you gonna have to get that cleared up before you ask for more. but housing for a villa is gonna run you 120-200K dhs per annum. schooling will run 8-12K USD per annum per child. gym fees you can pay yourself ...

from 04-07 they had been normal to get all that. but lately it's not been offered. unless it's a large MNC it might be hard to get that type of package.

again what industry are you in? that plays into it. there's a lot of directors in dubai, so titles dont really mean too much

Re: Is this budget accurate?

why is your car fees so high? 8K is high unless you have to drive a bmw, porsche, etc. what's the agency fees? gym fees run 300-400 per person or you can find better deals. 200K for housing is high since villa prices have come down quite a bit. and how much are you saving now back in london? are you...

i've got an SUV and put down 15K dhs and only pay 2600 per month. i live near work so fuel only cost me 220 per month. still not sure what you mean by agency, do you mean the rental? it's a 1 time fee, not monthly. for 150K you can get a big villa in springs right now, the 2 bedroom villas are curre...

sorry again, what's this agency fee? cause that's 2K per month. entertainment is upto you in regards to what you wanna spend. i buy everything at duty free cause goin out is too expensive, but once a month i'll go to dinner at atlantis or somewhere nice and a bottle of wine is anywhere from 180-8000...

in that case the agency fee would only be upfront 3-6% of the rental you choose. so you can take it out the monthly budget. so for a 150K rental you'd be lookin at 7500 upfront. you can re-do your budget based on that. beers usually cost 30-50 dhs at clubs/bars. pizza is around 40-50 per pie, and up...

Re: Emirates Labor Laws Favor Employers, Can Trap Employees

the 3 trapped brits are trapped in bahrain, not in the UAE. i don't disagree with the draconian labor laws, but your title is a bit misleading. bloomberg has an agenda and they pushed it, however i fail to see the reasoning behind focusing on dubai and then highlighting 3 brits in bahrain. there's p...
