No, they're ripping you off. NEVER pay someone to help you get a job, they should be paid by the employer. Does it help being a property owner job hunting?

Hi I bought an apartment in dubai about five years ago now - does that make any difference when job hunting - should I mention it? I thought it might help b/c as a property owner you can claim (I believe) residency - but - not employment rights.

Discovery Gardens - strange smell?

Hi, I just moved to Discovery Gardens - (Mediterranean building) and there is a very bad smell coming from the bathroom - the repair guy came to have a look and said that other buildings have had similiar problems - does anyone know how to fix this?

There seems so much doom and gloom, and yes the figures do speak for themselves, but - is there a positive future for dubai? Do you think we will all be amazed how Dubai 2.0 will turn out? Maybe it really will become a truly workable service hub and a tourist destination that exceeds all expectation...
