I think that religion and government should be kept strictly apart, because that is the only way that people will not be persecuted and the only way they can live freely and speak freely.

I read after the fact that he had had a falling out with his family, so that is why his parents reported him in the first place. Sad about the whole family situation :(

I doubt it. It will be a mixed group of Muslims and non-Muslims - so out of respect there should be no alcohol.

Have you checked with the respective embassies? Of course that will only yield fruit if she came on her real passport. You may then thru immigration at least get her sponsor's name and be able to lodge a police complaint. The problem is, she was likely on a visit visa. If she is trapped into s.e.x....

You still don't look at anything else apart from the situation there do you. You're like a broken flippin' record. Well if you don't bloody like it, why don't you go to Iraq and stand against the yanks and pomms - loser. Choco...I'm doing more service for the freedom fighters in Iraq by being here,...

Some excellent posts here people! Lionheart, are you listening to anything anyone is saying? It is great that you want to have Muslim society that is ideal, but realistically, there is no such thing and will never be such a thing as a Muslim Utopia. Power, politics, money, influence - all corrupt, n...

Has it ever happened? People are people - flawed, corruptible, prone to group-think. When has power NOT corrupted? Look at history Liban... so sad but true. I'd like a utopia, but there is no such thing.

Read some studies - speed DOES kill. The only place that anyone should be driving 260 kmph is on a closed racetrack. Anyone doing that on a public road at any time of day is irresponsible and a potential murderer. Sadly, some people don't learn this lesson until they kill someone or some animal, tot...

A sure-fire way not to get a ticket is not to speed. That might be too simple, though, right?

This one man's story highlights the fact that non-Muslims are being and will continue to be persecuted in Afghanistan. An Afghan person should not have to choose between their religion and their country.

Well, I don't like to say it either, but a long history has provided only depressing records of conduct - so I'm becoming more pessimistic perhaps :)

Have you checked the statistics on the age and gender of the people who have the most auto accidents? Young males. How do you account for this? I won't keep my opinion to myself - as long as people like you drive on the same roads that I do, I will certainly speak up. You think that driving a powerf...

The Springs (v), The Greens (apts), the Meadows(v) and The Marina (apts) are all close to Media City - I recommend those areas. Arabian Ranches is out in the middle of nowhere. Al Barsha and Um Suqeim areas aren't too bad, but the villas might be pricier there.

If you aren't interested in speeding frequently, why are you interested in radar detectors, and why did you choose a Porche? Some of you might think that I am too serious about this, but people are being killed on the roads here every day. We've narrowly avoided accidents because of bad drivers so m...

Lionheart, You say you want to go back to before the British came - but wasn't that the Turkish empire? The muslim world was hardly united then and, if anything, the Arabs were marginalised in the Ottoman empire. There wasn't a single religious head that the whole muslim world relied on - there was...

As an atheist I guess I would have been killed long ago - everyone of every religion would want my hide for not belonging to their faith. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Religion can't be forced on people and people should be free to choose what they believe in.
