Old warfare with two armies facing off on a battlefield is more ethical because 1) With such a huge loss of life of the male population people would thing twice about having a war unless it was necessary. 2) Only the army is fighting and innocent civilians don't have to live in a war zone every day....

Well, well... One more boring housewife on the boring DF. I am leaving you, ladies, alone. Without me you can find common ground in cooking, gardening and wiping arses of your progeny easier. Ah, quit your whining (and wining!) or I'll have to shoot you in the eye with some breast milk. If you stil...

I know this isn't realistic, it is just what I think is a better option to modern warfare where the idea of the game is to attack from a distance with something really deadly. They don't want to lose any of their soldiers but don't care how much "collateral damage" they cause.

There will always be s.e.x out of wedlock and unplanned pregnancies. Here are some options for a woman in the UAE who illegally falls pregnant: 1) Get married as soon as possible 2) Go abroad to have the baby 3) Go abroad to have a proper medical abortion 4) Get an illegal abortion in the UAE, possi...

So rudeboy, the law is about stopping single parent families? What about couples who are married, have children, then divorce? Should the parent who is guardian over the children go to jail with the children because he/she isn't deemed capable of raising children out of wedlock and it is bad for soc...

I don't understand why there is a 1 family 1 villa rule but the same doesn't follow for apartments. If the law is about safety, hygiene, and preventing overcrowding etc., then the same rule should apply to both types of accommodations. If the rule is about moral, economic or prejudicial reasons then...

You don't need the help of any service and will be wasting your money doing so. Simply go to the Canadian government website and download the documents and fill them out yourself. Using a service does not in any way guarantee or speed your application along on the Canadian side. http://www.cic.gc.ca...

Pretty freaking lucky that I'm from another part of the world, because I am one of those cases that Chocs talked about. I think it is ridiculous - there has to be a compromise. Maybe women could wear the 100% synthetic wetsuit kind that is closer fitting, but still covers the skin. If competitive swimmers can wear almost full-body suits and many pools have scuba diving courses where people are in wearing wetsuits, th...

It doesn't infringe on my rights to wear a long sleeved shirt and pants/skirt, as long as I wouldn't be forced to be draped in a sheet, including my face. I would never agree to live in a country if I had to dress like that every day. So, I guess the same could be said for Muslim women living in Fra...

Trolls at play

Geez, I go away for a while and then re-arrange my house and suddenly some new trolls have appeared. Just as anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, anti-Western propaganda is not welcome here, neither is anti-Muslim propaganda. There is nothing wrong with good discussion, but posting lots of threads on anti-Mus...

Wow. There was an 'anti' Buddhist thread posted here not very long ago. I think it should speak volumes that some forum member starts a thread to 'warn' others to not criticize Islam and Judaism but Buddhism is totally ok. Did I miss the part where anyone said that anti-Buddhism trolling would be a...

Maybe you can just go and check it out in person. Hopefully it is female friendly there!

I've just started kickboxing (outside UAE) and the morning sessions have mostly women e.g. housewives :), while the evening sessions have mostly men.

I hope the nastiness stops. I can't believe how mean things have become. Chocs has been here a long time and she has not been universally hated. In fact, I've never seen her this angry before. Of course, cursing people out and mishandling moderating issues is unacceptable, but it seems she's lost it...

Re: burkha wearer in go-kart accident

This is a terrible story. I feel so bad for her family! I know a family back home whose kid's long hair got caught in a home-made go-kart and she was badly injured, though not dead. Anything loose and flowing near moving mechanical parts is a disaster waiting to happen.
