Don't think it would work this way either. It was in 1998 and then the prices were very low. I think here it says house hold, so it might be that a european working husband and wife, which would make sense. otherwise, even with all the benefits included, i don't think the majority would fall in the...

Why not consider the mazda 3.. looks pretty decent and has features you wouldnt find in any of the other cars listed.. actually has some features you only get in higher end cars (in the fully loaded version that goes at about 55K): xenons, steering audio, trip tronic transmission, auto wiper sensor,...

Cream Ibiza.. Absolute RUBBISH!!!

Well, hope everyone had a good new year celebration. I for one, did not. We went to the cream ibiza event, and I think I would be accurate in saying that many people would like to meet the organizers and show them a thing or two.. This had to be one of the worst events I have even been to. Got there...

Gee.... sorry for having such a dissapointing New Year's Eve celebration. Especially if you did pay an enormous money hoping to enjoy and have fun without hassle. My experience is different though. Having to celebrate my New Year's Eve in Dubai for the first time, I am happy to say that we did enjo...

Re: Cream Dubai NYE complete DISASTER!!

Jag, you are damn right, the promoters of this event(Solo Entertainment and Gravity Nights) better find some way of compensating us VIP ticket holders. This event was a disaster, it was chaotic. Worst of all, staff and security members were unorganised, unsympathetic and plain out RUDE! One such me...

Me?! I stayed well clear of all the big events, I heard terrible things about Cream, the Lodge only had about 50 people, Dubai Country Club was quiet. People are getting pi**ed off being ripped off and charged a fortune for things they can do most night of the week. Myself and friends went to 3 vil...

Defo wrote:Hey again everyone :) Sorry to be booming u with all these questions..

I have an Eurocard/Mastercard and a Worldcreditcard of my Bank in the Netherlands. How are they accepted in the shops, and the supermarkets?

If its just a credit card, Mastercard, should be no problem using it here at all :)

Kanelli .... this might surprise you, but most of the Arabs I've met were very supportive and happy for me and my fiance. As I understand it is allowed in Islam to marry a christian. I wouldn't bother buying property here, to many unknowns and no security, resale values etc. I disagree Choc. the UAE and Dubai in particular has passed the point of "no return" regarding the unknowns and security regarding buying property as an investment. This was being said by all the expats sat...

Another thing that a lot of "expats" forget, is that someone like me who has puchased property in Dubai, can apply for Residency as an "investor". Now that i have done this i can live there without actually having to work :). Expats who dont own propery have to work to live there -ie "no work - no ...

Where are the nice beaches in Dubai??

Hey all, anyone know where the nice stretch of beaches are in Dubai? I used to go to the stretch behind the Oasis hotel by the 5th interchange, but now seems its all gone, with the new developments there! And I'm not too impressed with the shady crowds at the Jumeriah beach near Dubai Marine Beach r...

I do not get the logic behind these last few days...

I dont get it. Malls, cinemas and other stuff all comes to a stand still out of respect to the late Skh Maktoum. Yet, I was at the Madinath on Thursday night, and passed by Left Bank, a bar. Inside, people were shouting, wooing, doing shooters with flames. Why allow bars to operate and serve booze b...

shady crowds You mean non-europeans? Depends on what you want the beach for. Swimming? Surfing? Walking? I prefer the "virgin" beaches for a walk, like Sharjah's and Ajman's beaches (except on Thursdays and Fridays) at night. As for surfing/diving, I've been told there some very nice ones ne...

It is strange. But I would think it's because bars are exclusive hang-outs, deep in a hotel or around some corner. While malls and cinemas are general venues. So shutting them down would have the desired "mourning" effect. Whereas few would notice a bar shutting down. yeah possibly, though where I ...

Regardless of traffic, I can get from Ajman to Sheikh Zayed road in less than 30 minutes (driving at 140-160 kmph), taking Emirates road. Taking the Sharjah route would get you there in less than 45-50 minutes unless there was a major traffic jam/accident, then it becomes a 1.5-2+ hour ride (if you...

Hi Norma: I agree with the others on this one. The guy is clearly leading you on and having fun on the side. Many guys in dubai have this rep I'm afraid. If you plan to come here to further your career and grow, then go for it! But I wouldnt advise leaving everything and coming here just for this guy!

Great point about the buildings lasting 30 - 35 years, that was about the expected time scale that was told to me by two project managers that have since resigned there posts, they said 25 - 40 years was the expected life span of these properties, and this renewable 99 year lease is a total scam, y...

There is good and bad in the real estate in Dubai and while some people are happy with their purchases, many are not. Bottom line is one should do his homework, think things through carefully, and make the decision that is right for him or her. One would hope that over time the industry matures, rul...

Gang Rapists Get Two Years in Jail!

Justice is seriously lacking here. A gang of rapists get two years??? WTF is that? No doubt the nationalities came into play, and I doubt expat rapists would be given this light sentence.
