Otherwise you can apply for a visa through the Freezone as a Freelancer. Go to http://www.dubaiinternetcity.ae for details. This looks like it may be my ticket - has anyone been approved via the above process. fayz - that may be on the cards, but would rather marry under less quick fire conditions :)

Monthly Rental

Is it the norm that all lets are for a year or is there a chance of finding Monthly rental lets - or even striking a deal. I can afford up to 6-7k a month on a property - but there is no way i can lay out a check for 80k + fees. Would be better off getting a mortgage (if i had that sorta cash). How ...

Another Visa Question

Hi All, I have tried to search so i apologise in advance if this has already been answered. How many times can you renew a visit visa. If i come from the UK i will get 90 days on arrival - can i just keep extending each time by leaving the country and coming back in - or is there a limit? Thanks.

No limit as far as I know. But I'll sponsor you as a "maid" just give me the cash you are spending to go out of the country and back  Thats an idea - no kinky stuff though. Is it right that there is a 90 day visa dished out on arrival? This is from the federal govenment website: Cit...

I spent a few weeks working in Cairo and did not have any bad memorys at all. Yeah the traffic is mad like, but as you say order seems to come out of chaos. Did you find the best way to cross the road is just casually walk out? Its almost is the cars just slip stream round you. Quite a funny feeling...

Sir Richard Dannatt - get the uk troops out.

Finally someone with the needed status speaks up. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is massive. It is so rare that a british army General speaks up on a matter of government policy. I hope its a statement which leads to many spared lives in the future. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6046332....

Which raises an interesting question. When the foreign troops leave - what happens? Good point. Perhaps the US will stay there and eventually pull out as well (just like another Vietnam). Hopefully then the country will settle, but past experience suggests that the warlords will start scrapping aga...

Personally i would not go near phucket - seeing fat europeans going back to their hotels with 14 year olds put me off the vibe. Why not try out Koh-Samui or Koh Phang yan. Its full of lovely beachs and a slow peaceful pace of life. Not only that you get plenty of nightclubs 20 minutes away from your...

Hi Paranoid, I don't think for one second that they are doing this out of choice. We are lucky that we are in a position where we can afford to have choice in the first place. With situations like this, normally a group of indivduals will be making a lot of cash out of the poverty of these people - ...

I heard it was expensive out here but 'hello?'...

Just finished week one in Dubai and I knew it was going to be expensive, but being here has just confirmed this even more. Yesterday we viewed a dust ridden one bedroom flat in a complex which although ok would not have looked to far out of place in Spain catering to club 18-30 holidays (great if yo...

We have a 2 bedroom villa in the Springs and while we paid 85,000 last Dec., it seems the going rate is about 100,000 to 115,000 at the moment. The rent board has been ruling overwhelmingly in the favour of tenants. The main excuse given by landlords is "my brother is moving in", but the rent board doesn't let them get away with it. They have to have given proper notice and show intent to live there etc. Thats really good to hear...
