I just moved from Canada to UAE. Furniture here is cheaper than in Canada, and way more variety. If I ever go back to Canada, I would like to take whatever I buy here. The same furniture would be very expensive there. I dont even know what to buy since there are so many places with very nice pieces....

are you guys still having problems with internet in Dubai?. Here in Abu Dhabi we have no access to many websites including hotmail which is very frustrating, not being able to check your email, no even access to gulf news.

if you dont care about the salary, 1-2 months may be OK, otherwise it would take longer...Unfortunately, salaries are not that good here and housing is very expensive. Do not expect UK salaries, that only applies for people with lots of experience and working for multinational companies...

30K per year is not even enough for a room. A decent 1-bed apt is going for 90-100K, Abu Dhabi is more expensive than Dubai, and there is a huge shortage of housing, it is crazy you wont believe it....
