dunno about the quality and stuff but one place to buy gold is the 'gold souk'. Its like a gold market, from what ive heard the prices are reasonable, but ur never going to be able to buy gold below the market gold price, but yeah

Theres lots of sports stores pretty much everywhere... City centre, Al ghuriah etc.
Careful about the pricings for anything that you buy... shop around to different stores coz they will try get as much outta u as they can.

im in australia too, Perth
my dad works in dubai, which i visit every now and then.
Its not possible to get a 'visit visa', the only way that u can go over is for a holiday. To be able to stay there you need proof of employment, or family over there.

from what ive seen in dubai the market is flooded, and very competitive. It would be very hard in my opinon to open up sales and service. There is practically a whole shopping complex dedicated to computer parts etc. But research it a bit more...

umm im not in Dubai at the moment so i cant tell you exact prices. The only website that i can think of is that of Jumb Corp. They are a chain of stores in dubai that sell everything electrical. http://www.jumbocorp.com their prices aren't that cheap though, so i dont know how much use they are to y...
