On a 318, it is not really worth to go for any mods. If you had a 323 or a 328, then we can start talking. Regarding safe mods, do you're homework and start learning from real tuners abroad to figure out just how tuning an engine goes. Then you can decide to either let someone install the parts loca...

Importing should not be a problem, just make sure the car is LHD. As for workshops, best of luck, prepare to do a lot of work you'reself if you want things done right. Al naboodah doesn't do what you want, they do what they want and charge serious money. House of cars are cheaper, but yet again, the...

Sports cars are my taste, a real sports car to be butal, heavy clutch, crazy rear end (fishtails) and grips like nothing else.

It's a real 'mans' car :)

There are a few scrap yards in sharjah, try hunting there and make a deal with them.

As for the NAV, without the CD MAP, you can get it from ebay. The CD would cost something stupid and extra of ~Dhs 1,200+

Depends on what car you have and what parts you are looking for. 1000 Dunes and Performance are probs the best. Also, Sub-Zero has some damn good stuff available. Pick up a copy of Auto-trader or other UAE car mags. A lot of them advertise around. There are 100's in Sharjah, but you take the risk. ...

Read this to understand tuning

Tuning is VERY simple, as long as you have a fuel controller (piggyback) or a stand alone system. Whatever the case, you have control over injectors (hi or low imp) and (very desirable) timing control, also known as spark control. In dial in safe AFR (air-fuel ratio, the amount of air and fuel enter...

yorky500: I tune the car myself, i have joined forums related to my car and found out i was doing things all wrong. I mentioned in another thread (or maybe this one) i shot a rod bearing in my previous car. I looked on the bright side, the car was cheap (costed less than 7,000 AED, and took it as a ...

If you really want to stay away from tuning, there are very well known companies in the US that sell true kit. What i mean by true kits as in you recieve all the hardware AND software, such as turbocharger, mounting brakets, pipes, connectors and either chips or software. A real plug and play kit, i...

It is definately worth itm a true plug and play kit.

Pump gas is all that is required, 93US, or 98RON. The timing, AFR, Injectors have all been addressed.

Burj, Janu is a very 'low class' workshop, i used to take my E36 328Is there, till i got sick of his services. I ended up purchasing teh Bently E36 workshop manual and found out that all my problems were due to a faulty coolant sensor (drove the car craxy, failed emissions etc). The next people i kn...

Interior electronic motors have nothing to do with country specs (on a lot of models).

If a window motor fails occationsally, then i suspect something is a miss with the wiring to that mototr. Either it is causing to much resistance, or there is a short somewhere in the connection.

To be honest, don't get me wrong but the 'best' paintshops you can find in the UAE are in Sharjah. Dubai, they charge 8,000+ and i was not too happy with the jobs, because all they did was sand down the body till they reached the factory primer, added bondo ON the primer (BIG no no) and painted over...

That is a well known problem in Germany.. all Golf 3, Golf 4 and Bora models are very prone to this.. Here in Germany VW fixes it without charging you, maybe you have a chance of getting it fixed for free if you speak to some German guy at VW? See that? so much for a dealer telling you it is the co...

Some 80's German cars came with fire extinguisher already equipped (Audi's, VW's, Porsche's etc).

Our 06 BMW did NOT have one, i purchased one.

Always make sure that they are inspected, the day you wish to use it (hope that day never comes), it may not work.

That is the Audi showcar that appeard at the Frankfurt motor show in 2002-2003 (can't remember).

It is NOT silver, i know there is a false/misleading email going around regarding this.

It is just chrome painted, not even chrome plated or polished. The body and chassis is also hot dip galvanised.
