i understand the question, just don't see what difference it makes in the "big scheme of things". it's hardly as if the driving test is really easier in one or ther other ... It is a matter of convenience. His issue might be he wants to take lessons in AD instead of having to come to Duba...

One-bedroom for 5k would be a pushing your luck in any of the established non-"luxury" areas, but you can get a 1-bd at International City for less than 5k a month, with an easy drive to the airport too.

Since you have moderate expectations, 14k is good money for a single guy.
