The X-Trail and the Murano both suck off road. If I went for either, Murano easily. Both drive like cars, but I seriously think the X-Trail should be taken into the desert and shot. Of course, the Murano is way more expensive than the X, and the X is painfully popular.

You can't compare the FX35/45 against an X5 - no comparison. FX35/45 are just the "luxury" versions of the murano. No extra grunt, and IMO the ride was harsher than a normal Murano - could be the bigger wheels with lower profile tyres. That said, the noise (lack there of) on cruise at 120...
