They're not. A CV is comprehensive whereas a résumé only has the highlights. I personally don't care to know about most candidates' high school extracurricular activities nor their race, religion, or marital status.

I have it but I don't use it for anything except to test website compatibility. It's much better than IE7 but it's still slower than FF3, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. Still, anyone using IE7 should definitely upgrade to IE8. Oh and it's not really free. The price is included with your Windows license.

To some extent, yes. But once you start using VPNs, SSH tunnels, or other secured connections, it probably becomes too much effort for them. Even having direct access to your PC may not help them if you have your drive encrypted.
