they do have American bars here - not sure why'd you'd want to go though? there is Tgi fridays, though thursday is the new friday here. There is chili's. I didn't think you were allowed back into the UAE if you went to Israel. You ask them to stamp a seperate piece of paper not in your passport, at least this is what I did and I know many others. You just need to spell counselor right in your search

You can go through Sharjah but probably the easiest thing to do is get on Emirates Road heading towards Sharjah and follow the signs, very straight forward you won't have a problem.
