Hi there Gerry, the motor vehicle industry in the UAE is basically sales and maintenance, to the best of my knowledge there is no production in the region; however i think that some of the "off the shelf" European models have to be adapted to conditions in the middle east prior to being so...

try giving them a call

UAE 800 40 50 or mail memaster@fedex.com

i'd suggest over valuing the contents of the consignment, most companies will only pay out a percentage of the insured value; over-value it and pay the extra insurance

Hi there, there are a number of small/ medium sized radio stations in Dubai and the UAE. Some of them are privately operated and others government sponsored. Due to the large number of stations and relatively small listener-ship it seems to be quiet competitive (for advertising). I used to visit one...

If the bank hears that you will be leaving they will ask that someone signs surety against your loan. If the loan is not replayed the police come and take the person who signed into custody! This happened to a number of my employees! Unfortunately they don't know what they are signing for! In anothe...

14k... depends on the position? as to your other questions, i doubt 14k is not going to get you a luxuary appartment in a good area and a car and still leave you with much cash left to spend/ save. you should however be able to afford a decent appartment (about 4.5 - 5k per month), the vehicle repay...

Re: Questions about Labour ban

Guys, penny for your thoughts. 1) One has worked for over 1 year based on the employment contract. However employment visa was obtained later and therefore showed less than 1 year. Do you get a labour ban if you leave the company? 2) How much is it to lift a labour ban? 3,000 or 5,000? 3) If you ge...

you are eligble for a work permit up to the age of 60, basically 57 as that would be the last 3 year permit you could have. you can only have an extention beyond that with specific permission from the minister of labour (and yours would have to be a very highly skilled position to obtain one). try s...

What sort of engineer are you, aircraft maintenance? Emirates have a good reputation for maintenance training. I know of two people who worked for them and then were able to pick up good positions in the same industry after they left the UAE. Possibly evaluate he position based on your long-term car...

Take the job; look a new car isn’t everything. Firstly there are some damn decent second-hand 4x4’s (check for the service records), and secondly second-hand vehicles don’t have much resale value in the UAE. On the upside new vehicles are cheaper than in most parts of the world due to the low import...

I'd say the salary for even here is not bad. 14k equates to about 60k usd per annum if you take into account the tax issue. i doubt a 2 year old grad would be getting that in the states! also, i think the international work experience is a bonus, how many of his fellow students are going to travel o...

hi there, if you were in the medical proffesion such as a doctor or nurse, yes you could sponsor your husband and children - otherwise not. there are a few other catagories, but these are normally specialist jobs. the uae law expects the man to be the bread-winner of the family and all most legal is...

there are a number of issues here. 1. firstly if your husband is recruited directly from the philipines then the employer is responsible for getting him to dubai (airfares etc.) 2. if your husband is already in dubai and then apples for a job he cannot ask the employer to refund the airfare 3. there...
