fair question. when i hired people in the past i would rather take someone with 1 years on the job experience over someone with a 5 year degree. having said that it needs to be put in the context of the position - you would hardly hire someone with a years brick laying experience over a 5 year degre...

non-competition clauses CANNOT be enforced unless specifically included in your official labour contract - the one that is registed with the department of labour. the "contract" that you are probably talking about is in real terms an "agreement" with the employer, none of which i...

sorry, i forgot. one of the primary reasons the 6 month labour ban was originally introduced was to enforce a non-competitive clause on employees! obvioulsy this law has now been warped and adjusted into a money making scheme!

yes, as i pointed out last week most companies (well the pro's and management) are fully aware of the employees rights as well as thier own with respect to labour issues.

they simply rely on the employee not being fully aware of his legal standing on labour issues to bluff them into compliance.

from what i see they have the option of staying in crew accomdation or getting a housing allowance and staying where they can afford to. i know five or six members that have used their alowances to buy properties - others stay in rented villas/ appartments and some stay in company owned appartments

no, most GCC countries will refuse you entry.
normally people travelling out of the reagion to israel on business would have to do it via egypt, there they issue you with a loose page in your passport which is stamped on entry into isreal and can be removed after the visit.

hi there, i think the last posting of 1500 - 3500 is on the low side. granted the salaries are low, but not that low. this depends on a number of factors: the school where you hope to teach - some can afford much higher staff salaries, your experience most schools will pay teachers on the position t...

hi there, just one point.
you cannot have two applications for the same person in the immigration system at the same time. you need to make a decision one or the other. i'd opt for the residency visa - to save you time and money, and that is your final objective in anycase.

my employment is governed by the DIFC Employment Law, not by UAE/Dubai labour law. Please correct me if I'm wrong! true, but the FZ laws are based on the uae labour law, about 95% of it in anycase. did you get a proper labour contract - arabic/ english one? give it a try, what have you got to loose...

I'm confused (not a rare event) how does the residency visa thru husband save time and money? If she get a visa true the Employer it will cost her nothing! The Employer does the works and pays, etc. Arguably the salary given takes that into account but there is no outlay of cash by the employee. co...
