RAK Investment Authority is a Freezone Authority. If you check you will find that they sponsor your labour card, while your employer sponsors you for residency. This is the first such case that I have heard like this. Contact the Investment Authority Labour office; ask them why your labour contract ...

Yea you can but try the private companies. Don't confuse the issue! the labour law has minimum educational standards which determine whether you can be employed or not To this end a copy of your attested (by a UAE Consulate) qualifications has to be submitted to the Department of Labour before they...

Question one: Did you pay the agent for the recruitment? Question 2: Did they ask for your attested qualifications? They also told me that 3 of my batchmates' visa has already arrived. Is it possible that their visa were approved earlier than me while all applications are submitted at the same time?...

i think your husband has to try and force the issue with the new employer.

tell them he is being transfered and has to leave the country in 30 days - see what their reaction is.

down-turn in economy is a recent thing and not something that has gone on for months.

i kind of understand what you are trying to say, but you are confusing the issue.

without valid attested documents it is impossible to get a legal labour card and work legally in the UAE - this is the law, and cannot be changed

Sadly, i only know my batchmates personally! I mean, yes, we've met when the principal did an interview, but that was it! I even don't know how to contact them. The agency informed me that they've (3 of them) left the country last 20th of October. The agency/agent is here in my home country (Philip...

I’ve had some friends with similar circumstances who have managed to get sorted with credit. Small things they won’t bother with, but if you were planning on buying a house it would be a different storey. Hook up with a local bank not someone like HSBC or Standard Chartered. As you got caught out pr...

Yes, your husband will have to cancel your visas before they cancel his. If he does not cancel them he may not be able to re-apply for a new visa for you (and your son) if you were going to join him again. You will need to send him both passports so that the visa can be cancelled.

Sounds about right; I’d start with the higher figure first, but word your request carefully - you want to leave them some room to negotiate with you if they feel what you are asking for is too high. Conversely you don't want to ask for the lower figure simply to get the job and later find out that t...

yes, you would get the ban unless your old employer provided you with a Certificate of No Objection. You would have to have asked him to do this as it is not normal to simply give an employee one. If your residency visa has been cancelled already then the ban is already in effect and there is nothin...

No, I’m afraid not. In the past there was a "fine" that could be paid to lift the ban, but this has been removed. In order not to be banned all of the following conditions have to be met: You have to have a NOC from your current employer. You have to have a written offer of employment from...

As long as the employer can show proof that they have applied for the labour card then both you and he are in the clear. Failing that it is illegal to work on a visit visa, the penalties are normally fines, but can also be deportation. By law, the employer has 30 days to provide you with a labour ca...

Re: The Ultimate Dubai BAN Guide

You need to check your contract, it is printed on the document (whether is is limited or unlimited). You say you have completed 2 years, but the contract was renewed in May; this does not necessary mean that it is now unlimited, the employer may simply have issued you with a new (2 year limited cont...
