When looking for jobs in Dubai , you should not pay any recruitment agency fee (although maybe they can charge you for writing a CV or other services). A website not in the UAE may get away with charging fees but it wouldn't turn me on. Here's a list of Dubai employment agencies and information that...

Stay in a hotel with courts?

Some of the parks in Dubai have them. Safa park is 20-30 minutes drive from DIC but courts may be busy.

Try Geant in Ibn Battuta Mall, or Ace Hardware (SZ Road, or Festival City), or Speedex (SZ Rd).

and i want to make the papework on my own I'm not sure you can for a tourist visa. I think you have to go through a company. Perhaps someone else knows better? I've obtained visas for visitors through travel companies (for a 500 dh fee) in the past, I think they were tourist visas, not visit visas....

Are you talking about Dubai Academic City (30-40 mins drive give or take an hour if you get stuck in traffic), or Knowledge Village (almost walking distance - allow 5-10 min drive and 30 mins to find a car park)?

Re: high salary & perfect package... too good to be true

I saw an ad offering over 4k USD monthly, plus airfare, housing, health insurance, and paid vacations for teaching positions. Sounds like the packages offered by Global Recruiters. They advertise positions for places no one has ever heard of, like... Deira Homeland School Atika Language School Zafi...

bonk, are these filters effective? Don't know, my hair still falls out  I'm sorry if I sound ignorant, but I am interested to know what difference they make to the quality of water? Don't know. Water quality fine for drinking anyway. Also, are these the types that can be attached to the showe...

Ha ha, I think that's a Global Recruiters effort. All they've done is get a free domain name from Tokelau Islands (.tk) and frame the real MOL website.

It's either the same as, or similar to, a trick I saw them use a while ago.

Marina a good place, but could be traffic problems to DAC. International City closer, cheaper, but much lower standard. Al Barsha another possibility.

I don't know of any accommodation in the DAC area available yet.

How did you do that? I paid a plumber. He drilled holes in the wall, installed the filter, disconnected the shower pipe and screwed it into the filter, and a second hose to the water supply. Looked like a PITA operation... It would really help me out if you could take a picture for me You're gonna ...

Water filters don't reverse the aging process :). What I mean is I can't tell if they slow it down.

Is this the one that's available in Carrefour / Geant?

Its not really THAT safe here is it? If a few expats tut-tutting over one peeping tom is the worst that happens to EW forumers, then Dubai is still a remarkably safe place, especially for a city of 1.5 million people. It's not quite that safe though - read the court reports in the press for the mor...
