Re: Dubai on the cheap?

AED 6k could be enough for living costs (excluding accommodation) if you're not extravagant. AED 500 for utilities and phone AED 1000-2000 for groceries AED 1000 for food and beer once (midrange) or twice (budget) a week AED 2000 for cheap rental car + petrol per month http://www.dubaifaqs.com/cost-...

Re: Freelance license to work in UAE

Yes and yes. But I don't know agent names to recommend, I have seen advertisements.

Places like DMC, DIC, DKV do a reasonable job of helping you sort out paperwork though, contact them first before you give money to an agent.

Re: ALL DUBAI NEWSPAPERS ACCESSIBLE ONLINE FROM ONE PAGE

I note that you don’t dispute my point about the superior usability of 2daydubai.com. Like I said, user-friendliness comparison wasn't my objective. Usability is in the eye of the beholder anyway. If you think it's superior, I can't dispute that. If I think it's not, you can't dispute that. The “qu...

Re: post office box - are there private ones?

Not like you have in the UK, although there are some business service companies that might offer something similar (sorry, can't think of names). Most people have mail delivered to company where they're employed. Even if you plan to get a private box eventually, might be a temporary solution. Or get...

Re: More Good news from Dubai World ...

Let me try to put a positive spin on this; the article you posted is a fabricated one made up by people jealous of Dubai. I would like to see someone comment who actually knows how the debt market works. The whole article needs to be read and anylised prior to any kind of comment. It's not fabricat...

Re: Freelance license to work in UAE

I thought I answered that already :?. See my first post. A UAE work permit is permission to work in the UAE. If you want to live and work in another GCC country then you need a work permit and residency visa from that country. You can visit other countries on a business trip to get a contract and th...

Re: Dubai: The good... the bad... the ugly

It's been widely reported that around a quarter of the world's cranes are currently in Dubai, Whenever I read that, I know that the reporter or media source is lazy at least, if not deliberately fabricating sensationalism at the expense of accuracy. It should have been obvious that it was a nonsens...

Under what name are you accredited with ICANN? I don't see hostnhub.com or wwwdubaiuae.com listed with them (neither site loads for me by the way).

Re: A first in Dubai

(Of course, I did go the 10.30pm showing of Avatar, and it was pretty much an empty theater, but still!) Glad to hear that you were able to concentrate on the film. Is it worth going to see? Definitely, but only in 3D. The story is a bit weak but the alien forest seen through funny glasses is wild.

Re: ICANN registry

Hello. ICANN runs the registry. The post was to inform people that when you buy a domain off hostnhub that the domain REGISTRAR will be listed with ICANN. We are partnered with the worlds largest registrar. No, ICANN accredits registrars (among other things related to the internet). Verisign operat...

ICANN is the registry. Companies who use them are registrars. People who buys domains are registrants. Next time get your facts straight before trying to cut my service down thanks. Have a good day. ICANN is the registration authority. Verisign, an independent company, is the .com and .net domain r...

You are like a dog with a bone who will not give it up. I asked a simple question. You still haven't answered it. As stated domains are listed with ICANN registry. I have made no false claims. Re: 2 month Visa for Dubai

You can arrange a 30 day visa, not 2 months but will depend on salary (I think at least 10k), possibly relationship and nationality, and maybe luck.
