no mate you can't get sky via a dish because no dish in the ME can focus on the european satellites. Its all to do with the position of them etc. Its not the technology its purely the position of the satellites in relation to the countries they serve.

you receive Sky news because that particular channel is transmitted to the satellites that serve the ME and Far E. It is also a free to air channel from any satellite that transmits it.

You are not picking it up from the European Sats mate.

It is very relevant as the majority of appts/villas in dubai are room share properties. There are very few "couples" and singles soley renting their own places excluding family occupations obviously.
