I am in a predicament. I have been offered a position in Dubai but the money is only approx US$20K more than my current status in Australia.
Is it worth up routing my family for this small financial gain but furthering my career. I would appreciate some input being positive and negative.

The $20K is annually after tax. All calcutations are net. I have taken into account the Tax free benefits in Dubai for wages. Relocating to Dubai - Jumeirah area.

Thank you for your reply. I had a look our there yesterday and noticed a lot of the vehicles are new. I assumed there are imported vehicles from USA, etc. Do you know if they are GCC specifications. Is there a separate compliance plate for GCC / UAE.

Thanks

problem is a lot of appartments were bought off plan, so landlords have trippled their money. They are not as negotiable in rent as some may think, especially JBR suprisingly.

no way, its not enough. You will struggle with the accomodation, and schooling and you also want to live. Dubai seems to be getting much more expensive and alot less lucrative!!!!

I totally agree with deedee. 100000 dhms a little low for rental. Coming from a family with 2 children, I would definently negotiate some rent aswell as relocation allowance. It can cost a bit to set a family up here and just as much to ship your things over! Schooling will cost and so I would also ...
