Julieta, the guy I use does all day bookings as well. He's curteous, doesn't smell and his english is pretty good. He also drives safely - which is a major thing for and especially with the way people drive here, as I hate not being in control of my own life. If you're interested let me know and I w...

It's really working great for us. For the price of having 3 indians sitting there doing nothing all day, we have just one emirati - that's efficiency.

Valentine's Day means nothing to me and never will..... You don't need some dumb day to show your spouse that you love her/him... Typical arab mentality  WTF's that suppose to mean? V'Day is just commercialism propoganda - "hey, lets make up a day where we can jack the price of roses up 10 f...

Maite, there's people here holding bachelor and masters degrees with decent experience and able to only command minimal wage. Just a case of too many resources so that drives the market rate down - what may seem low to you may not be for 100/1000s of others out there.

What's your nationality?

Sadly the online facility of the Dubai Traffic Department is very temperamental. I got a parking fine 3 weeks ago and it still doesn't show up. Chocco, I find the Dubai Police site gets updated sooner than the Municipality site. That said if you pay your fine through the Municipality site I suggest...

Are you also in the financial industry, XRW? Exciting times.

I always try to make it a point not to make assumptions - always better to ask than to offend.

So to speak mate, Financial Analyst but for an O&G MNC.

What I gathered so far is that I should be able to make around 20000 dhs... it's a ballpark figure. I will be ok with it. I think bieng US national plays a role here. Have you talk to any banks representative directly regarding finidng opportunities??? T, although ur nationality and experience play...

Kami, just a note to say I find Jeevan's 1st point to be fitting. I've actually looked through a fair few on here when we've not had good candidates reverted to us and only those who fit the job profile would be looked at. As a result I've only put forward 3 resumes from here when our company was hi...

G: I know you were referring to SF. I'm half Thai, half Singaporean Australian citizen sharing 6 ethnic backgrounds (Scottish, Armenian, Portuguese, Malay, Chinese, Thai) - I guess you can compare me to 'rojak'. Been here since June last year mate.

Good point DBXsoul. I will check that out. BTW the company has stated they will also cover insurance, maintenance and petrol on top of the car allowance. Is this usual? My only concern is the accomodation part to be honest as the rental prices seem fairly high. I'm going to Dubai next week to meet ...

I'm not sure about Fujimart, but inside Lamcys on the top floor is a shop called Daiso (I think that's the name). That place also stocks some Jap items/foods etc. Might be worth a shot if you're not looking for fresh produce.

Tapu, you're still being too vague about not being 'white'. I hate making assumptions but for this I make an exception and will just generalize that if you're ethnic background is similar to what's readily available in the market here then you would be better off working back in the US.

A tiler in Australia makes about 10 times more back there than what he/she would here. Stick with Australia where labourers earn better than white collar workers, and not the other way around here.

Fuzzy, although it may be geographically reasonable to live in Dubai and commute to and from Sharjah you will find it an utter PITA after awhile, if not immediately. Sharjah Dubai road is just crap every day of the week to be on.

Without going into too much detail mate its a fungal infection... the most common is for all you ladies out there - vaginal thrush: causes itchiness and icky secretions (not the normal icky stuff).
