Operated by Anas Al Nabhan in the computer market area of Bur Dubai. He partners with locals whom he gets to write bad checks to overseas suppliers that deliver goods to them where the checks then have no funds to cover. He then claims to be innocent and claims that he has nothing to do with the bad...

Mine does not reflect the light :D I'm a manufacturer for this item here in Taiwan. You need to check with your local laws for usage. There are many states in California that ban radar detectors and many that allow them. This is not the problem of the manufacturers but the problem of the end user ju...

Car weighs in at around 3310 Lbs. With over 320 Lbs. of Torque. It has a light flywheel and light-weight wheels. Car and driver pulled 0-60 on the new 335i in 4.8 seconds and that car had run-flat tires on it with stock wheels and no LSD. That car stock was making 300 HP and 300 LBS. TQ. The new 335...

I have the same problem here in Taiwan where there is a Buddhist temple near by. Every morning at around 6:00 a.m. they start playing these weird and most irritating sounds. I went there one day in the early morning and just sat outside his temple with the horn blowing till they all came out and ask...

Definitely agree with you there. At times though people want something different. Mother always taught us to go home and at as there is always food in the refrigerator but I always liked to go out and buy something to eat :) Nothing beats home food though.

Most of the mentioned in the above post are a bit on the harsh side but in reality reveal the truth of how Dubai really is. It is tax free but they more then make up for taxes by charging you up the nose for other things. Their telecom rates for one thing are 4-5 times more then those of other count...

Both crooks are still out there and free. As of now neither the government or the crooks have paid. Looks like they make great partners. Useless going through courts in Dubai as it is money down the drain if you rely on them to serve justice.

It looks like the government is cracking down on those that don't pay back the Banks or locals since most banks are owned by locals. Those that don't pay back their dues are getting arrested and aren't set free until they pay back their dues in full which in my opinion is fine but wht the hypocrisy ...

The only reason Dubai grew was due to foreign investments from expats. Though the locals have a lot of money to build nice projects these nice projects are nothing without buyers or investors. There are 2 types of buyers: 1) Investors that are looking for a return on their investment 2) Rich people ...

If you are a local, an expat being paid a high salary or are a rich person with money burning a hole in your pocket. For a lot of poor people from India or Asia Dubai can be hell for them. I guess it all depends on where you come from or your current position in life.

Media censorship of forums and blogs

http://arabianmoney.net/2010/01/16/uae-website-successfully-sued-for-defamation-over-comments/ The unfortunate side of censorship is from critics that wish to silence the people. Re: Media censorship of forums and blogs

That all depends on what you consider libel and slander. Talking about China's censorship could considered libel and slander by the Chinese which also would be the same in Saudi,Iran or even the UAE. This is the same reason these 3 countries I named as examples only do not have or sell gossip magazi...

Re: Sheikh Eisa story gaining traction

Even if he was found guilty in court (which the judge wouldn't have the balls to do) he would for sure have been pardoned after and released.
