Hello everyone, I need some advice on relocating to Dubai. I've been offered an interview but they want me to come to Dubai to do it. I'm currently in Canada. Is it normal practice that the job-seeker pays their way to Dubai to interview? It makes me a little nervous to think of the expense of reloc...

Canadian woman/Jordanian man-unmarried-will we be homeless?

Hey there, I am Canadian girl and my boyfriend is Jordanian. We're looking to move to Dubai in a few months and I'm just curious as to how we will be received when looking for a place to live. We've had a great deal of difficulty even getting a hotel throughout the Middle East. I know Dubai is freer...

EEK!

Thanks for your response. I'm just wondering how I might get around people's suspicions with him coming to my apartment everyday for a year... It seems like it will be difficult to maintain a facade on this one. I get what you're saying but what about all the expats that live together (male and fema...

Hello there, Well, you've scared me a little so I decided to do a little more research. I found the US State Deparment's Human Rights Report that did say that co-habitation is illegal but that it is widely unenforced. It did say, however, that if an expat woman is found pregnant and unmarried, that ...

DMC- Public accessibility?

Hello again,

Another question. Is it possible to go door to door within the offices of Dubai Media City or must you have an appointment? I'd like to drop off resumes without having to set something up for each company....

Do you really need a car to survive?

Hi there,

A few of my friends currently working in Dubai tell me I won't be able to get by without a car and that taxis are too expensive to use as a daily means of transportation. Is this the case? Is it hard to get around without one?
