I was there for a week in January 2008. We had FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IN ONE DAY....following George Bush's visit the day before . Roundabouts were flooded everywhere ! They had more in a day than they normally get in a year, I believe.

I think that FAR MORE can be done to improve the Dubai economy by simply MARKETING more on the internet.
There seems to be too much Government control and a lack of web-sites......COMPARED TO THE INVESTMENT IN BRICKS AND MORTAR !

What do you all think of Dubai Chronicle which I came across on Dubai Networks on Facebook? It is an on-line business newspaper for Dubai and looks quite impressive to me. It has been out for 3 years. How much freedom of speech does it have?
