I have considered moving to Dubai (or at least living there for several months) but I have lived in the United States my whole life and am very used to the lifestyle. So I was wondering if the things that I am used to here are readily available in Dubai. For example: How good are the grocery stores...

You can get them at the local pharmacy over the counter. Not cheap though, I think it was around 450 Dirham for 4 pills. I asked last night because we were at the chemist and they had them on the counter. I jokingly asked the guy for a sample and he went into a sales pitch. I must look like I need ...

Have you considered an internship Liam? It might be a good place to start. And its a good way to get the initial exposure you want. Most (not all) organizations in Dubai would prefer experience in Dubai or the GCC. You may need to keep this in perspective. Getting a foot in the door in Dubai general...

It took me 3 weeks from first interview to my arrival in Dubai. Freezones are a lot easier as the visa process is not as lengthy.

Having said that, it took a friend of mine 2 months. It varies depending on the efficiency of the HR department as well.
