This situation started in the US about 18 months ago maybe 24. Its just reaching Dubai and many other parts of the world. There is still no end in site. So people in Dubai you ain't seen nothing yet. My advice to you all is to get out gracefully while you can or have a fall back plan. I certainly do.

If it has been that long, chances are your not getting a visa. The work permit/visa takes 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately the contact you signed with the company doesn't have any legal wieght. The only contract that maters is the one you and your company sign with the labor department.
