75% of people on this forum make 20k to 60k? Now we know what management does all day in their offices. Okay, I've put my quote 40 - 60k. Now tell me why you are so surprised and also tell me why anyone would relocate if they would not get this at least ? I've arrived here now, but other than cheap...

I'm currently contemplating entering negotiatons with my employer to move to Dubai for (at least) several years. I've had a look on some jobsites and I've noticed that the salaries seem to be significantl...

I agree with both of you here. Guess "to cut the corner" is something we will learn during the next couple of month. My plan in any case is not to be too far over my housing & car allowance and see how it all goes. Time will tell. I see ppl around me spending crazy money on rents and c...

Habibi, you're talking about a tax-free salary range equivalent to £65k to £100K at current exchange rates. Dubai may well be on a par with the UK in terms of expense, and in some respects is more expensive, but you should still be able to live a reasonably comfortable life on less than AED40K a mo...

If you have a UK passport you do not need an international DL if you hire or rent a car. The same goes for USA, Can, Aussie, EU etcetc. I tried to get a rental car (AutoPlus on SZR, next to VW showroom) last week with my EU license and it got declined. I received the message that this has changed l...

Lawn is dying slowly

Never thought I would ever post such a question into a public forum, but here it goes. We moved into our new home 3 weeks ago and do have a lovely garden which my wife will take care off. Easy peasy you would think. The first problems were to get rid of the guy who usually took care of the garden fo...

get yourself a copy of the "company law" (i think of 1980), there is a book shop at the bottom of the burjaman centre that used to carry law books. the book will tell you all you need to know in order to start a business in dubai as well as the various types of companies and partnerships....

Building a SuperHighway through the Springs

I searched but haven't seen a thread re this topic. Living in the Springs, absolutely loved the complete area, especially driving the nice road with spead bumps counting Palm Trees on my way to work. It was a PERFECT WORLD! Now they have removed all Trees, the roundabouts are destroyed and they are ...
