Re: Britishness - Some Facts

I dont understand why it should be presumed that one is "ashamed" to be from somewhere? If a Jordanian migrates to the US for example, then he obviously prefers the US over Jordan. If the US Govt. has legally allowed him to be a citizen of that country, then he has got the right to say tha...

Re: Britishness - Some Facts

Racism is rather a sad thing.

If he had said he was from Jordan he would be accused of not integrating! A catch 22 situation.

I am not that intimate with any Emiratis so I dont know if they are or not. Thats another story.

Re: Britishness - Some Facts

and they'd all say they were from America when asked where they were from. Exactly. Why should it be anyone's business to say "He was actually Egyptian, but just pretending to be American." He was actually being American and proud of it most probably. And that is how it should be if you a...

Re: The Simulators

Designed by whom? Well, I think that means the Human design. Its an interesting question as to who designed it all. This is a question no scientist in the recent past would have entertained for fear of being ridiculed! Now, it has become a question that is increasingly being asked in scientific cir...

Re: Pathetic Sentence For A Brutal Murder

What do you expect? A friend was driving with his wife very much within the legal speed limits when he was rear ended by an Emirati in his speeding SUV, and sent rolling out of the highway! Luckily, the friend and his wife escaped with minor injuries. The Police arrived on the scene and happened to ...

Re: Pathetic Sentence For A Brutal Murder

The link would be myself.
The guy was an Iraqi and a Physician of repute. I saw him immediately after the accident, and he was livid at the behavior of the Police.
"What if one or both of us had been seriously injured?" he asked. And rightly so.

From the American Association of Retired People

Here is some good advice : Q: Where can men over the age of 60 find younger women who are interested in them? A: Try a bookstore under fiction. Q: What can a man do while his wife is going through menopause? A: Keep busy. If you're handy with tools, you can finish the basement. When you're done you'...

Re: Why The Burka Should Be Banned

I dont think women should wear the full covering or burka. Makes them appear like stupid non-entities, whatever their religious beliefs. I myself dont know how to act in the presence of a burka-clad woman with a full face covering or veil. Where does one look when talking to her? I remember a funny ...

Re: Thank You For The Laughs

Well, these days whenever I come to DF I laugh a lot!
My threshold for laughing has been reduced to such an extent that I laugh at the slightest provocation
Even at myself. Surely a sign of greater self esteem.
I am getting there, I think :D
So, yes thanks DF :P :P

Re: UAE Strips Online Activist Of Citizenship,

There's a saying in the Middle East: "To control a Persian keep him hungary; to control an Arab keep him well-fed!" Or something to that effect. The oil-rich Arabs are too well-fed and comfortable to make any effort towards demanding their rights. This will continue as long the oil wealth ...

Re: Alcohol: Dementia Risk

every study that has been done so far since the 1980s supports these findings. Alcohol dissolves the fats present in abundance in the cell wall of particularly neural cell, even in very small quantities

Re: Through The Wormhole By Morgan Freeman

zubbber ,

Very interesting and thought provoking.

However, the latest thinking about "time" is that there is no such thing!
It was a figment of the human imagination all along! The new equations dont need the Constant 't' (for time) to balance them!

Yes Zubber. What we thought of as the passage of time was nothing more than Entropy, the decay where everything in this Universe is heading.
Everything decays and dies in the end.

Re: Theories Of The Soul [quantumn Physics Models] [video]

"Near death experience" is not death by definition. So does not prove a life after death. Rene Descart said, many years ago: "I think, therefore I am." Quantum science is now telling us that the atoms, of which everything is made, are 95% empty space, and the rest of the 5%(elect...

Re: Neil Armstrong (Abdul Jamal) - Passes

Neil Armstrong never converted to Islam!
He was an agnostic.
No, he was a Protestant! :D
Some people say he never set foot on the Moon! So how could he have heard the Adhan on the Moon??
God is in his Heaven, and His angels are in attendance. Amen.
