well get up earlier to go to uni then... everyone here complains about how bad the drivers are in Dubai, but everyone is also breaking the rules (e.g speeding), then how good a driver you are when you are complaining about the local drivers at the same time you are also breaking the rules.

even tho you are hired locally, you still have to go thur the medi test. After you are hired, the company will send you to have a blood test. I think (not 100% sure) you cannot work in the hospitality industry if you have hepetitis.

yeah but really Emirates driving institute have really good instructors ... on the time that i took my driving exam 8 of us passed first try and we are all student of emirates driving institute main ... they really teach you good driving .... the worst as what ive heard is galadari ... they even lo...

At home kids have to be within your view and at arms length at all times but here during the school hols I saw kids of 10 to 12 going to the pictures on their own. My kids are safe and people are really nice to them and in shopping centre play areas you can pay and leave them....yes, I am serious!!...

taxis are cheap only if you know your way around. They try to reap you off all the time. when a fare normally cost 25 dhs it will sometimes cost me 38 dhs. i would say stick with the rules, don't follow what others do. I think it wil be a a lot less traffic if everyone follow the rules (less accidents).
